I started googling all of the different theories on Benjen, and a thought crossed my mind, there are a ton of theories that Benjen will be some kind of ambassador or will return with new knowledge about their race. But what if...

Idk about being one of the Others, but Bran and Meera need some way out of the mess they're in. Short of introducing a new character or having one of the Children of the Forest survive their suicide defense back at the Bat Cave, the only known character that's left in any sort of potential position to "rescue" them is Benjen.

You have to admit, there's a striking resemblance. That walker didn't show up until after Benjen left, and he is also the one that ignored Sam when he saw him beyond the wall.

The show did reference Bran the Builder in the first season, and there is nothing left to spoil, as the books have caught up. What exactly do you want us talking about if not theories on the story? Everything we have mentioned as of late was in the shows.

There IS a resemblance. But didn't that guy go after Jon Snow at one point?

Now you've got me thinking that it would be a perfect link for if the show truly goes the way of "the Others arent THAT bad you guys. They might be the good guys!"

But speaking of resemblences, I thought The Night's King shared some facial features with Bran when they stood next to eachother.

Perhaps the Others are all just a bunch of Starks that have been transformed or have travelled through time.

Oh yeah, I'm not truly upset that the thread has done a 360. I actually find the theories to be quite interesting too, honestly. I started the first book last summer and stopped about 3/4th of the way through (not much of a reader, but I enjoyed it nonetheless). I hope to pick it back up over the weekend since it is looking like it will be a pretty crappy weekend Up North.

He did. That's why I brought it up. As if it's a "mysterious man", then according to GRR, it's not Benjen that's returning this week, it's Cold Hands. That being said, I don't trust a damn word GRR says.

I watched the first episode of the show, googled Game of Thrones out of curiosity, read the then-recent New Yorker profile of GRRM, and then decided to pick up the 1st book. Finished it before the second episode of the show even aired. Lol. I was hooked.

Gonna pat myself on the back about Benjen returning, though someone else (LAX?) called it as well, and Wooly was on the right track too. There really wasn't another option for Bran and Meera's rescue unless they wanted to introduce another new character, but it's getting a bit late in the game for that unless there's reallllllllly good reason. Benjen just made sense when you considered everything.

Also, I guess we know that Bran will be joining Jon in the fight against the Night's King, rather than JOINING the Night's King, which I thought might happen in some twisted way.

I'm hoping Jaqen and Arya are playing the Waife for a fool, and that Jaqen is cool with A Girl also being Arya Stark, but I'm worried that Arya isn't going to be the Master Assassin that I hoped. That's a super bummer, considering her sample chapter from WoW is amazing and shows that she's well on her way.

Samwell skrong den. Take that sword from the mantle! That surprised me. I thought Gilly was truly going to stay at Horn Hill, and that Sam's unborn son would be the Lord of Horn Hill some day when Randall and Dickon are both killed in battle. Also, I was surprised that Randall was even going to let Gilly and the boy stay in the first place. I thought it might go in an ugly direction.

Drogon is badass, but they should've saved that speech for whenever Dany actually has her ships and for when Rhaegal and Viserion also have riders.

I forget how the whole Riverrun thing plays out. We were all acting like it was huge news that Blackfish is alive and in Riverrun, but that's actually the storyline from AFFC. I forget the resolution (if there was one?).

Interesting that Benjen seems to be Cold Hands when GRRM confirmed that they aren't the same person in the books. But as we all know, he's a damn liar. Maybe they are indeed different in the book though, the show has merged several other characters.

I can't do it, because I'm still rooting too hard for her to be a Master Assassin AND have a Direwolf at her disposal. After I posted my concern, I thought more about it, and it seems likely that she had some off-screen training that will allow her to do work.

Now we just have to wait and see how her refusing to forget her identity will come back to bite her (after she's kicked sufficient ass, that is).

I'd offer a reward to anyone who can figure out how to do a frame-by-frame breakdown of all of Bran's visions.

There was some stuff they clearly wanted us to see (like confirmation that he's going to drive the Mad King to the brink), but there were some single-frame shots that I'm sure provided some tasty morsels of foreshadowing that they put it for the internet detectives. I just don't have the technology to do it myself.

Just gotta wait on Buzzfeed or Reddit I guess lol
