If it’s real, straight up eroticaIs that real or a joke?? That has to be a joke....
Doesn’t matter, I choose to believe it.Is that real or a joke?? That has to be a joke....
This probably had more to do with the teams, rather than the seeding. Three of the teams were not top 4 quality (Georgia, Boise State, Arizona State), and one (Oregon) had to get up for a rematch they already won in the regular season. It would have played out differently if the seeding wasn't based on conference champions.Well, considering the top 4 seeds all lost after their byes…is this really a good thing?
Yes, the 5 - 8 ranked will get home games in the first round.Much like they do for the NCAA tournament, schools are still going to complain. This team was ranked too high and this team was ranked too low.
I haven't read anything on the changes. Will first round games still be on campus?
I would still say Georgia was top 4 worthy.. not a slam dunk but winning the SEC and having boat loads of NFL talent puts you in that conversation. This probably had more to do with the teams, rather than the seeding. A 16 team playoff with no AQs and the teams all hosting in the first round seems like the biggest layup in sports history. Which of course means that we are going to get some convoluted nonsense instead.Feels lame that the result for the fanbase that ends up 1-4 is no chance at a home game. I get that avoiding risk/injury from a bye is a huge reward (think about how nice it would've been to have Mills during the run last year), but still seems suboptimal.
Maybe they could have bowls in the first round (5-12), then home games for the upper seeds, then back to bowls for 3rd and the national championship. That would have the added benefit of giving the towns/fans of the top 4 get an additional week to prepare for an impromptu game week.
Yep - I don't think this will be the last 'Configuration'.Feels lame that the result for the fanbase that ends up 1-4 is no chance at a home game. I would like the top 4 seeds to get a home game as well. I dont think there should be a neutral site take until the championship honestly.Feels lame that the result for the fanbase that ends up 1-4 is no chance at a home game. I think it does actually.... if the Irish are ranked in the top 5, and you have a Conference contender ranked 6-8 and that team wins their Conf Championship game, they will probably 'leap-frog' the Irish who are sitting at campus watching. Accumulate that into two or three... the Irish could literally fall from 4-5 to 7-9th. I know it is a wild scenario but - stranger things have happened.I would like the top 4 seeds to get a home game as well. I dont think there should be a neutral site take until the championship honestly.
It doesn't impact Notre Dame as much, but with conference championship games, and possibly three more neutral site games...thats just asking for financial and travel burnout from fanbases that are largely regional.
Plus, home games through semifinals restores the regular season's value. Home field advantage is an excellent reward for a 12-0, 13-0, 12-1 type seasons. Plus its better tv. I'm sorry but the neutral site games are not nearly as compelling as home games. What game are you more excited for, a win or go home game in death valley, ND stadium, the big house, etc.......or some corporate environment like Glendale, the Rose Bowl, etc.
Wait until the SEC teams find out that ND ended up 5th and they still have to travel to SB in the winter. lolYes, the 5 - 8 ranked will get home games in the first round.
I really desperately want Minnesota to get an Indiana 2024 type schedule and go 12-1. The Golden Gophers hosting the Florida Gators in December could be very fun.Wait until the SEC teams find out that ND ended up 5th and they still have to travel to SB in the winter. lol

Im unfamiliar with the bowl deals, do they have some sort of witch doctor magic that prevents the conferences from just...moving on?I dont think so either, but I'm trying to be realistic. There's just no way that the bowl committees accept that. If I had my druthers there wouldn't be a single game of cfb not played on a campus. Let those towns have all the money. Atlanta/Miami/Vegas don't need it.
Agreed. Aside from the Rose Bowl, they're all just blah generic NFL stadiums at this point. There's some tradition with the SEC and the Sugar Bowl I guess. The rest of them? Whatever (and it's not like Dallas or Atlanta are especially pleasant in January). The Peach Bowl wasn't even a big thing until it got into the CFP mix. In three years no one would miss it.Im unfamiliar with the bowl deals, do they have some sort of witch doctor magic that prevents the conferences from just...moving on?
Because it's absolutely bananas that they get all these playoff games under their banner. There is no reason the northern cities with proper facilities should be locked out. Minneapolis and Indianapolis can host final fours and super bowls but not CFB playoff games?
The amount of times Florida has left the south to play a football game in my lifetime is one of those ‘I can’t believe this is true’ stats,…I really desperately want Minnesota to get an Indiana 2024 type schedule and go 12-1. I will cut Florida some slack considering most of their history includes non-con FSU annually, and Miami relatively often. The amount of times Florida has left the south to play a football game in my lifetime is one of those ‘I can’t believe this is true’ stats,…
Nah sonI will cut Florida some slack considering most of their history includes non-con FSU annually, and Miami relatively often.
Not a ton of motivation to leave the Confederacy

I'd put the first two rounds on campus, have one semi in Pasadena and the other in New Orleans, and then bid out the championship game like the Super Bowl.
