ND needs some wealthier friends
yeah Zach Edey (Former Purdue bball player) lost out big time because of this.Did not want to have a scary bump in Will Black's profile- but here is an interesting twist in his recruiting status that I hope F.U.N.D has thought of Five-star Notre Dame OT commit Will Black missing out on NIL packages due to visa restrictions
Every farmer and factory hiring manager could have told us this. There's our recruiting strategy going forward..target foreign players...NIL problem solved 😉
foreign students are in the US on student visas so they cant take money. however they can make money in their own country (via endorsements etc)Just guessing but can’t foreigners create an LLC or just have someone else create one for them? Pay the LLC not the player?
Sure but there are so many legal ways to transfer funds from point A to point B.foreign students are in the US on student visas so they cant take money. however they can make money in their own country (via endorsements etc)
It's complete bullshit that ND fans aren't allowed to contribute to their collective. Oregon allows their fans to contribute. Ohio State allows their fans to contribute. SEC schools allow their fans to contribute. Based on what John Brice has reported, ND's payroll this year was around $7 Million. That's not good enough. Not saying they need to be in the $20-$25 Million range like Ohio State and Oregon, but there's no reason for them to be in the $12-15 Million range. There are 700k followers of the ND Football account on X. If just 20% of those people made 1 payment of $20, that would be nearly $3 Million in additional NIL funds. That's being very conservative with how much they'd be able to add.Open this to fans. Time to pay up
To each their own, but when ND fans start paying college students to play football here I think it will be time for me to find a new hobby.Open this to fans. Time to pay up
Yep. Put-up or shut-up time. After losing to Michigan, OSU fans went nuts and gave tons of money to NIL. Thus the $20 million roster. It paid off handsomely for them. This is the test of whether ND actually wants to compete for titles or not.
And enough of this stuff about not wanting players who are just chasing the buck. Screw that. You think OSU cares that's why their players picked OSU? It's a business. So ----ing pay me.
I like it, but at some point you have to dip you feet into high school dudes as well. Need a Jeremiah Smith even if it is just one a year.We should take a page from Michigan and their One More Year fund. Let fans contribute to bringing our draft eligible guys back. Let the big money donors concentrate on bringing in transfers or recruits.
As for why it won't happen, I think ND doesn't want any money that would have gone to the university from small dollar donors to be redirected to an outside entity.
The players you need to buy are the top 50 players. From the 2013-2018 classes in the 247 composite, over 68% of the top 50 recruits have either been drafted or player in at least 1 NFL game as a UDFA. Here is the hit rate (draft pick or played in at least 1 NFL game as a UDFA) for the 2013-2018 classes on the 247 composite:I like it, but at some point you have to dip you feet into high school dudes as well. UPDATE: I emailed the Rally folks last night and they got back to me this afternoon. They don't have a website to make a gift because they encourage people to give to the Rockne Fund. However, if there is a specific interest in giving to Rally, that is possible through a wire transfer ACH or sending a check. These can be designated for NIL for a specific sport.
So yes, fans can donate to the NIL collective, even though it'd be easier to just have a website.
Let me put it on my Amex so I can also get some points while I'm at itUPDATE: I emailed the Rally folks last night and they got back to me this afternoon. BRB, mortgaging my house to pay a flaky 17 yr old WR!
This should never be brought up again. I am trying to permanently remove what we paid for seats from my brain. The ticket prices people were paying for this game should be proof positive our fans are deep pocketed enough to make a difference
