Took the dog to the park today...was nice, this winter has a light at the end of the tunnel...

Supposed to be cold again tomorrow.

What part of town? The park down the street (far SE side) from us is mush right now.

I'm really starting to get depressed.
Can't remember a winter affecting me this way before.
Lows for the next five days are 11, -9, 2, -2, and -1.

Freezageddon may finally be losing its grip. 60 yesterday and 40 today. Surprisingly most of the snow is gone already. Now comes the floods.

We'll guys, we can all relax now. I just saw a flock of Sandhill cranes flying north, so winter is over.

We should have kept our mouths closed.

Although it wasn't more than a dusting, we just got more snow and they are predicting temps to drop back into single digits over night. Then this weekend they are predicting a wintry mix of rain, sleet and snow.

OK winter, you win. Now go away!!!!!!!

Went to South Carolina last week and it was mid 70's only to return to the lake effect snow that never ends in NY. That is depressing.

Everyone here is panicked over the 'huge storm’ that is coming our way over the next four/five days... Scattered showers, heavy winds and an average in the mid to high 50s………..

Haha, the only thing suprising in that video was the fact that apparently Lancaster has a paved road somewhere??? It even looked like a nice paved road... stange... who knew?

You'd think we were about to get hit by Katrina the way some of my co workers were talking this morning... lol

I started this thread on 1-6-14...a few days already into this ridiculous weather. I figured we would whine, cry, and compare stories for a week or two then all would go back to normal. I can't believe I am posting the chill map above EIGHT WEEKS LATER!

We've had less than a foot of snow since New Years. Daytime temps are expected to be in the mid to high 30s for at least the next 5 days. We're gaining 5 minutes of daylight per day. Come on up.

Sounds better than here. I'll be there in about 66 hours. Does Google Maps take potty breaks into account?.

Fly to O'Hare then take the non-stop, 6 hour flight (Alaska or United) to Anchorage. MUCH easier than driving the Alaska Highway.

Our winters are usually better than those in North Dakota, northern Minnesota, and the UP, but they last longer. We had snow on the 20th of May last year. We're kind of fatalistic about our weather-When we have such mild winter temperatures, we know we'll be punished eventually. But, in the meantime, we're enjoying the Lower 48 weather reports.

But when I got there, I'd be without a car and have to rent a sled dog team. Does Hertz or Avis rent sled dogs? lol

Too cold for twisters.

But they might come sliding by on a glacier soon.

Thank you for your previous post. I do not watch local news here because I always thought that the extremely mundane and idiotic expression of what the broadcasters considered news, was because of our backwater churlishness.

After seeing the LA news, I find that it comes off exactly the same. With clearly "cooler" newscasters!

Wow I would feel totally better, but as they have always advised us to watch CA for next years trends, I feel awful, because I can see nothing but more stupidity in the forecast!

I did feel bad for that one on-site reporter, I know how bad of a hazard blowing leaves can be! ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY ARE BEHIND YOU!

We really don't have enough snow on the ground to make that practical. The Iditarod, however, does start Saturday morning. Perhaps one of the mushers might have some spares :)
