Love this, was reading a thread on rivals regarding Micheal Floyd and a Michigan fan posted something tongue in cheek and a Alabama fan rips him.

Originally posted by DrMazenblue:
and September, Michael is not going to miss any games this year. Interesting strategy by Kelly to avoid any disciplinary actions beyond missing spring practice.

I'll leave it up to the Notre Dame faithful to decide what message that sends to the rest of the team.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If it was me on that team I would say hey Micheal did show 1. Remorse 2. Showed that he was willing to change 3. Dedication to the team- Plus they would think man what a great choice I made when I picked ND. They actual care about enough about me to get me to improve my life and they truly practice the Catholic belief of forgiveness. Thank God I did not pick that dump of a school in Michigan where they would stuff me in "football Classes" so I can only focus on football. Nope ND actual cares enough about me to get me to strive to achieve a goal and help me grow as person. Roll Tide- Muck Michigan

One hell of a reply especially coming from an Alabama fan.

Michael Floyd may participate in voluntary summer workouts, if he chooses, but he has not been reinstated to the #NotreDame football team...

Said Brian Kelly: "Michael has made steady progress towards modifying his behavior and he may participate in the voluntary workouts being...
conducted by his teammates as well as the summer strength and conditioning program, if he so chooses. However, Michael still has steps to...
take before he can be considered for reinstatement to our football team. If he meets the conditions I have outlined to him and he...
demonstrates improved decision-making skills, Michael will have the opportunity to rejoin the team for practices and games this fall. If...
he doesn't meet every criteria given to him, Michael will not play for Notre Dame in 2011," said #NotreDame head coach Brian Kelly.

Brian Kelly draws a striking resemblance to Coach Taylor.

This is pretty much verbatim what Eric Taylor would say, I'm pretty sure.

(yikes. I honestly don't watch that much TV...)

Dude, I watched all the seasons of Friday NIght Lights in a week and a half after moving into my new place.. I was obsessed, in the zone.. But yea, it's def a Coach Taylor mentor move. Floyd will be a better person thus a better player.

The forty different quotes made me seasick; otherwise good news, (not about Floyd, about the way Kelly is handling it.)

all thats left it to reinstate him

Not quite.

"He's still actively involved in doing the things he needs to take care of," Kelly said. "He's finishing up some community service work, he just turned that in. He's got some work to do on some other personal issues. But he's making good progress. I'm very optimistic right now.

"When I talk to Mike, I get a good read. when you look somebody in the eye and you feel like you're getting the right vibes from him – that's how I feel about him right now. But he's still got a ways to go and his status won't change until we get to the school year."

Notre Dame football: Floyd reaches plea agreement - southbendtribune.com

SOUTH BEND – Suspended Notre Dame wide receiver Michael Floyd’s took yet another step toward rein-statement Wednesday morning, this time in the legal arena.

Floyd pleaded guilty Wednesday in St. Joseph County Traffic and Misdemeanor Court to one count of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, stemming from his March 20 arrest on Notre Dame's campus.

Magistrate Brian Steinke ordered that Floyd be placed on administrative probation for one year beginning Wednesday.

Floyd's driver's license will be suspended for 90 days, and then he will be required to use an ignition interlock device in his car for six months. If the device detects alcohol on Floyd's breath, the car will not start, and it will be considered a violation of his probation.

Floyd must also attend a Victim Impact Panel, where he and other drunken-driving offenders must listen to a presentation by family members of people killed or in drunken driving accidents.

He was also ordered to pay court costs.

Floyd's sentence is the standard one used by the state for first-time drunk-driving offenders.

Floyd's defense attorney, William Stanley, had asked that Floyd receive limited driving privileges rather than a full driving suspension in order to attend classes and football practice, but Steinke rejected the request. Steinke said the restricted license is meant for people to travel to and from work, not academic classes and athletic prac-tice.

The state agreed to dismiss a ticket Floyd received for disregarding a campus stop sign on the night of his arrest.

I really think that this is going to turn into a posititive thing for Michael. He will be spending a lot of his time making right, and that will carry into the rest of his life. He will be hanging out less with so called "friends"" (ie bozo's that mooch off Michael because of his status) and start to grow up. He can focus on what is important now and prepare for the future. After all, he chose Notre Dame for the right reasons. He almost lost it all and now he has one last shot. Take your opportunity, Michael.

I felt like Eminem there for a second....

I'm sure there will be a line of people ready to take him from point A to point B.

The sad thing is, there were plenty before as well.

Maybe he should move back into the dorms and be a regular person with decent football skills.

For some reason I thought that he was going to be back to the dorms, I read that some time back. If any one knows for sure either validate or inform me if I am wrong.

I thought that kid who came on here talking about living in the dorms next to the football players said Floyd was there. No?

Yeah, didn't someone say that Floyd and Toma were rooming together in the dorms?

From the "Stephon Tuitt is for real!" thread:

Hi everyone,
I'm an ND student. Ive been following Irish Envy for a while since my freshmen year. I'm taking summer classes at ND right now.

I live on the fourth floor of Siegfried, where most of our beloved football team stay for the summer. Right across the hall are Eilar Hardy and Jalen Brown. Mike Floyd and Robby Toma live next to them. Anyway, I just had an interesting conversation with Stephon Tuitt. As a little nerdy asian man, I was scared at first by his size. But then he started to ask about my engineering major and was very curious about the technical aspect of my work, which was rarely asked by the d-bags i lived with all year long. Stephon is really a man of character.

At first, I had some prejudice against football players in general. But after some social interactions with the football guys in my section, my thinking has changed a lot.
I just want to let ND fans on this board know that coach Kelly is doing a great job of developing characters.
Let's all hope for a strong season.

Wow. I just got the worst feeling ever when I realized I am now a person approaching my thirties that is aware of a non-relatives college living situation. And I now feel so depressed about this gross reality that I am going home after work and having a double Makers Mark (for the depression) in the shower (for the grossness).
