Catcher in the Rye - Salinger
A Lesson Before Dying - Earnest Gaines
The Lovely Bones - Sebold
Anything by Jonathan Tropper
The Shack

Non-Fiction -- In Cold Blood by Truman Capote

The Hunger Games is pretty good, too. In fact, I think the book was better than the movie. Reading the 2nd book now and it may even be better than the 1st one.

1.) About Face
2.) Killer Elite
3.) Duke Sucks
4.) Matterhorn

About face is good if you have time as it can throw some people off with its 830 pages but it's a good book about the Korean, and Vietnam wars

So... without getting into spoilers... I just got to the part of Storm of Swords where George R.R. Martin kills about half the characters I was rooting for in one swift chapter.

Holy sh*t. These books are great for their unpredictability.

Haven't read for pleasure in a few months but The Black Hand: The Story of Rene "Boxer" Enriquez and His life in the Mexican Mafia was fascinating.

Debating what book to read during Thanksgiving break...

He kills his characters indiscriminately, regardless of their importance. Pretty awesome.

-A Confederacy Of Dunces
-Go Dog Go
-The Illiad
-Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier
-Angela's Ashes

Bit of a shocking coincidence: I'm reading the old science fiction classic When Worlds Collide --- precisely the chapter when the near-missing planets cause a huge tidal wave which pushes into NYC and inundates it. It was a creepy chapter under current conditions.

That's why I purposely didn't put any names in. You have absolutely no idea who I might be talking about it.

I know... Figured that I may as well be the first to scream at someone for spoiling. :D

This wouldn't happen to be the one about Hitler's invasion of Poland, would it? If so, fantastic book.

Definitely. Holden is by far my favorite character of all time. My best bud just named his kid Holden. Hopefully that doesn't mean my future son has to be named Ackley...

"Life" by Keith Richards (Rolling Stones)...absolutely crazy, as you'd suspect from the legend himself.

There is a sequel to The Catcher in the Rye coming out soon. It's only being published in Europe though, I believe until the copyright expires on the original. It's written by some Swedish author.

I hope that author's name is Dolph Lundgren.

Oh yeah. Huge infringement lawsuit by Salinger and his estate. I think it was published, but the District Court said it is banned in the U.S. and Canada. Probably not worth a glance.
