I like seeing Tommy Tremble up at 233 lbs. The kid is an absolute stud. With his athleticism and his improved blocking that was on display the end of last season he is one of the top TE’s in all of college football IMO. And Tremble was a consensus 3 star coming out of high school lmfao.

Kyren's weight loss in encouraging and you can in the practice videos. Kiser's and Ovie's weight gains is also good to see. Was hoping to see Tommy closer to 250 but oh well.

Per Sampson on II podcast - Jordan Genmark-Heath has won the starting Buck spot

Also, Cam Hart and Isiah Rutherford are the 2nd team corners behind Bracy and McCloud.

Shawn Crawford will start at safety alongside Hamilton

Also for folks wondering if/how media are allowed in ND stadium for home games, folks on II podcast said each media outlet is limited to one employee in the press box per game. Apparently also the windows will be open for air circulation.

Cam Hart is 6’2 1/2 207...at CB. Crushing fools.

Yea, really like seeing Ovie at 240. Marist at 226 and Kizer at 227 say those guys should be ready.

And I know I’ve posted this before but the young DL is pretty crazy. (Rounded up or down a tad to keep it simple) Foskey is 6’5 257, Rylie Mills if 6’5 259, Ehrensberger 6’7 247, AK 6’3 302.

Safety is more cerebral than physical. As evidenced by Pryor, Griffith, Redfield, and by the same token, Gilman and apparently the 5'9 Crawford.

Right, but all the hoopla coming out of (an albeit abbreviated) spring practice was that HG had finally turned the corner. I wonder if that was all BS or if we actually regressed in some way since then or just lost all momentum.

I think there is some consternation amongst ND sites on whether the roster updates are complete or accurate. But, we'll work with what we have for now.

Tosh Baker up from 285 to 300. At least from a weight perspective, that clearly puts him in the conversation for starting LT next year.

Liufau up to 226. Also a note from Freeman that has Liufau really pushing for the starting Buck spot.

Flemister finally cracking 200, at 201 up from 195. He needs that weight. He has the physical mindset but needs the meat to back it up.

Banks down -5, from 335 to 330. I was hoping for a little more but it's a good sign. A healthy/in-shape Banks has first round potential.

I think we could be forgetting that Crawford is a damn good player and that could be an explanation for him being ahead of HG who might also be a really good player now.

This isn't consistent with my above post but I am getting ready to call the 2018 class a bit of a fail.

Didn't suggest otherwise, in fact I suggested the exact opposite.

The fact remains that he does not fit the physical profile of a high caliber safety like the high 4*'s I mentioned (I guess you can throw Derrik Allen in there too). He is already undersized for a corner, let alone safety.

But as we have seen under BK, the best performers at safety are not always the 6 foot-plus guys who can run like deer, but the guys who don't have mental hiccups and have a nose for the ball, like Gilman. Luckily we have Hamilton who is both and will be playing on Sundays well into the 2030s.

I mean, Shaun is one of our most dynamic and best players when healthy...always has been.

And honestly, our depth there looks outstanding right now. Hamilton and Crawford with Pryor and Griffith behind them? WOW.

Griffith probably still sees the field plenty and if I had to guess Pryor as well, especially in run heavy games.

Agree with you. Additionally HG never redshirted and as we know all players get a free extra year. And Crawford is in his last year, I doubt he comes back for a 7th. The staff knows this could be a special team and figures lets get the best 4 DB’s on the field regardless of position, similar philosophy to the offensive line. And with Crawford’s experience let’s get him on the field for every play instead of just nickle as he is one of the 4 best DB’s on the team. And it won’t hurt HG being the 3rd safety in dime packages as he is getting a red shirt year but can play in every game. Gives HG a chance to gain that mental and communication experience slowly. Then HG will be a two year starter in 2021 and 2022.

Shayne Simon looked better against Louisville last season than Genmark-Heath has looked in his entire career. How this guy does not have a chance as a starter is beyond me. Another wasted (almost) five star recruit.

ISD mentions that Liufau is the one to keep an eye on here. Cant teach his length and speed.

https://irishsportsdaily.com/forums/1/topics/50233

And SI (Driskell) says he's hearing its going to be Shayne Simon. So that's three different picks, with Jack Lamb still in the picture; he would be a fourth option.

Are we loaded or mediocre at Buck? I guess we find out when they start to play games.

If you are a coach facing an odd unexplored situation (like this COVID crap), you want "Anchors." What are the Anchors?

1. Veteran Quarterback who knows the whole system;
2. Veteran O and D lines (with depth) that have worked together and know the whole system;
3. A Game-changing Hawk who will eat up other systems' mistakes defensively;
4. Veteran middle-linebacking to organize the defense.

Gentlemen: that's us. And it's almost no one else.

Good stuff, agree. Obviously this is the year we will go undefeated and win the national championship, you know the year 2/5 of the teams aren't playing...that would be so Notre Dame.

Yep, chaos helps the veteran/mentally flexible players for sure.
