While he may not be the same type of player as Iniesta I think Coutihno would excel in Iniestas spot in the left central midfield. He operates there much of the time with Liverpool currently. I just dont think Barca will meet that valuation.

100% agree with everything stated. He would flourish.

Liverpool!!!!

What a win!

So funny that we had that long discussion last week about whether Coutinho is a 10 or an 8, with most of us agreeing that he is basically a 10, but then in the build-up to Sunday's game Klopp says in the press that Coutinho can operate as an 8, and then in the actual game Coutinho does play as a center midfielder in a 4-4-2 diamond shape and absolutely shines.

This game demonstrated exactly what I like about Coutinho in a deeper role. He is at his best when he is picking the ball up 30-35 yards from goal and running at defenders with teammates in front of him making runs. He is impossible to defend when the defenders have to worry about which direction he will go and whether he is going to shoot or pass. Even if he starts on the wing, the goal is to get him in that situation, but it is harder to get guys in front of him. The only question is whether he can do the job in a defensive sense. Fortunately West Ham offered very little going forward yesterday. If you stop Lanzini, you are in pretty good shape with them.

Didn't expect a result for Liverpool with Firmino out, but I liked Coutinho in the central role. Brilliant. West Ham was unbeaten vs Liverpool in their last five. Massive result for the Reds.

Danny Sturridge is world class, but made of glass. He he were fit, imagine him in the middle of a front three with Mane on the right and a proper left winger on the other side. If they have CL football next year, they will need him, even if as a squad player.

Liverpool took 16 of 18 points away in London this season yet they're fighting for a top four spot. It's odd, really.

Love Conte. Despise Chelsea's owner, London supporters, Terry and Costa. Title is a nice indictment on Mourinho, though.

Is this Spurs club the best to have ever graced The Lane? They're quite good.

The Bayern vs Leipzig match was insanity.

Need to add " have terrible start to season..we suck again" after we are going to win the league.

I mean... in the first 15 matches, Arsenal only dropped 7 points, which isn't bad considering the result of the first match (3-4 to Liverpool, but was 4-1 at one point). The problem really was the middle of the season. Dropping 23 out of a possible 45 points. THAT's where it always goes downhill.

They need to get rid of Wenger. It really is time for a change there. Chelsea, City, Liverpool and United have all made big manager hires recently. Arsenal risks being left behind if they keep spinning their wheels.

Plus if Sanchez leaves, I think they're in very big trouble.

5th and Wenger out could mean losing Ozil and Sanchez. I know Ozil is a polarizing player, but he IMO needs to stay for Arsenal to compete in the near future.

On the other hand, 4th and Wenger in just means the same old Arsenal, even if both stay. Not a good situation.

opinion:
1). Arsenal 5th
2). Wenger votes himself in again
3). Sanchez says "so long."
4). Ozil bizarrely stays since he likes living in London.
5). next year=mediocrity on their standards.

Sports memorabilia, cards and jerseys is sort of a side hobby of mine... I have about a dozen ND jerseys, a few Browns jerseys, and bunch of Angel Jerseys, few other select teams and then with soccer I have about seven or eight Celtic jerseys, a Newcastle jersey, about a dozen USMNT jerseys and a couple BVB ones...

I hardly wear them, it's more of a collector thing for me... though I will rock any one in the right circumstance, like a game or viewing party etc...

I have a few, not many. My favorite though is not for a team that I care about, just a cool shirt. My In-Laws were in Great Britain in 1995 and they got me a Blackburn Rovers EPL championship jersey. It's pretty sweet.

Haha no worries man.
yeah enjoying it so far dude. was lucky enough to get settled pretty quickly with a job, car lease, and then free accommodation with my wife's family. Going from five weeks holidays to five days per annum is tough but to be honest the work culture is kind of a myth. People might spend more time in the office here but they don't do any more work than folks do in Europe. There is a lot of time wasting here and people just running down the clock for the sake of it.

We went from living in a modern European capital to a small town in the midwest with very little diversity so there is always going to be that adjustment too but we have met some really open minded folks in the area with similar views to ourselves. I feel like this is quite common here, there are a lot of young couples with 1 or 2 kids who used to live in Chicago or places like that but have moved out here for the cheaper cost of living and the opportunities to not have to raise a family in a small expensive apartment.

Looking forward to the summer now and the chance to get out waterskiing, tubing and kayaking. Will have family over from Ireland for a few weeks in July and am excited to spend time with them. This spring I have been a volunteer assistant coach for a local high school girls varsity soccer team and I have loved every minute of it. I will either coach football or boys soccer in the fall if they will have me :)

All in all its been good and I am not homesick really, just enjoying life and meeting new people all the time and sharing my experience and viewpoints as a foreigner :)
