Took a little longer than Lewandowski but Sergio Aguero scored 5 goals in a 20 minute span.

Lol I really haven't been watching as much MLS as I would like. NYCFC broke my heart last night in the final minutes after finally getting their shit together. I think Timbers or Galaxy are going to take it this year.

Rodgers has been fired. As predicted.

Had to get that jab in there for the doubters!

Good info though. I was doubting how an American would have such info but I'm impressed! Thanks for the heads up. I was smart enough not to call you on my doubts as you're a trustworthy poster, so I knew you wouldn't say anything just for attention.

Now, on to BR. It's over, it's finally over! Look I was rooting for the guy but he seems to have lost the plot. The team has been utter shite, and I think he lost the dressing room. Once we couldn't get up for ManU away, I really wanted him out. He wanted to implement a passing style and he abandoned it to fit Suarez and Sturridge, then never used it again.

There are people saying Klopp was spotted in Liverpool, and ex-players and journalists are saying FSG don't like Klopp and it's Ancelotti, so I guess we'll have to wait for reliable sources. I would like to think with the international break they have someone lined up and ready to come in.

Gotta thank Brendan. While things were very frustrating for awhile, he gave us 13-14, which was one of the best seasons of watching a team for me. Sure Suarez was amazing, but Brendan's contributions shouldn't be ignored. On to to next man.

Klopp time, I hope!

Best of luck to Rodgers. Some parallels to the Charlie Weis years here, for me. Rodgers is a strong tactician who just couldn't put it all together as head man. Too much talent to be so bad.

Just don't understand why he could have success at Swansea but be so lackluster at Liverpool.

For me Rogers was not Liverpools biggest problem - it's players, simply don't have the quality o player as the top sides and not in the same market to buy as the top clubs

Suarez led them to their 2nd place finish couple of years ago and a top club came in and took him away

Liverpool fans want to compete for championship but compare player for player wage for wage to city Chelsea or man Utd and you'll find Liverpools biggest barrier

they really need the stadium sorted, they gotta take the punch that renovations will hit them with but they have to think of the longer term picture.

Also they HAVE to pick Klopp over Ancellotti. He is exactly what they need in a manager and they need to do everything they can to help him succeed.

Also from my acquaintance....TIFWIW..Koop is the favorite to be announced in the next 48-72 hours but there are some internal hurdles to overcome with FSG. Ancelotti has said no at this point.

Another thing out there is Klopp is consulting with Didi Hamman and Robbie Fowler about joining the staff.

Klopp is a phenomenal coach. Big loss for the Bundesliga.

Hoping Bayern makes a pass at Reus and Hummels.

I am hoping he can bring in some German class to Liverpool. Our transfers have been poor recently.

Because this 5th goal against Dortmund (Goetze to Lewandowski) was just so pretty:

<div style="width: 100%; height: 0px; position: relative; padding-bottom: 56.250%;"><iframe src="https://streamable.com/e/q7ch" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen scrolling="no" style="width: 100%; height: 100%; position: absolute;"></iframe></div>

Hummels actually came up through Bayern's system. He's spent more time playing for Die Roten than Dortmund.

Huge, huge news.

Of the numerous coaching hires ND football has made in my lifetime, I wish any of them felt like even half as good a hire as this one for LFC. Klopp is the perfect guy for LFC right now. I'm hopeful of a quick turnaround.

As of 1 hour ago....

Reports are stating that Klopp has now arrived at Liverpool John Lennon Airport and a press conference is being arranged.

Four of Brendan Rodgers’ backroom are set to follow him out of Liverpool as the club prepare for the arrival of new manager Jurgen Klopp.

Assistant boss Sean O’Driscoll, first-team coach Gary McAllister, head of performance Glen Driscoll and head of opposition analysis Chris Davies have all been informed they won’t be part of the new coaching set-up.

O’Driscoll and McAllister were only appointed by Brendan Rodgers three months ago after the sacking of Colin Pascoe and Mike Marsh but neither are required on Klopp’s staff with the German bringing with him Zeljko Buvac and Peter Krawietz, who he worked with at Borussia Dortmund.

Experienced Bosnian coach Buvac will be Klopp’s No 2, while Krawietz will be the video analyst.McAllister is expected to be offered the chance to stay at the club in another capacity with a role at the Academy under discussion but it remains to be seen whether he will decide to stick around,

Driscoll and Davies, who had been at the club since Rodgers’ appointment in the summer of 2012, are certain to leave.

First-team development coach Pep Lijnders, who was promoted to Melwood from the Academy four months ago, is being retained with owners Fenway Sports Group big admirers of his work.

Ryland Morgans, the club’s head of fitness and conditioning, is also expected to stay,

I understand the need to dispense with them, and I doubt Gary Mac will take another role, but Klopp's team is his team. They've been very successful together. I'm very very very happy we are keeping Pep. He's a rising star.
