Interesting lineup. No Sahko. Three really young guys. Sad not seeing Captain Fantastic out there....

Saw this on Facebook:

Did you see the EPL odds???!! Liverpool is at 25-1 to win the league! Do you realize what that means!? It means if you put $100 on Liverpool to win the league, then you will lose exactly $100.

I laughed.

I hope moving forward the plan involves Firmino instead of ibe. Firmino looked pretty solid for his limited cameo. Also, what a goal from coutinho.

Must be nice playing in a league where your only competition on the field is one team in the whole league.

To me... Any Irish fan ought to cheer for Pool. A giant in their own right who hasn't been truly great since the 80's...

Ha this was definitely part of my rationale in picking a BPL team. The ND parallel is pretty obvious. Lost greatness, northern team, detractors say they have trouble recruiting due to diminished status, etc.

Lfc didn't exactly win convincingly today but I am still optimistic the new signings will gel. Some flashes of brilliance, especially the goal. Coots has saved us from pedestrian performances a number of times with bombs like that.

Damn, Red Bulls...

Money can't buy you love, ( or wins against your top rival) NYC's lesson of the day.

Only saw the first 60 minutes...damn, that first half was BEYOND dull. There were literally no highlights, except for a half chance from Stoke that was blocked. I was also disappoint Flamino didn't start.

Incidentally, if I HAD to choose an EPL team, it would be Liverpool. Have always loved Steven G, plus Torres was at his absolute apex when he was with them, and he was my favorite striker forever. And now my coworker is a huge fan. So I was happy with the win, but I'm hoping they'll play MUCH better, or they're not making the top 4.

Anyone know anything on this Erik Palmer Brown situation?? Talks of ending up in Italy never seem to go away, but I don't get why that would work for him, if he can't get minutes for Sporting KC why would he get minutes with Juve?? He's getting to the age where he might be ready to crack more minutes in MLS anyway no?

I am really hoping he lives up the the hype as he can provide a very nice block to build our next generation's back line around.

More evidence of how clueless I am. I thought Pirlo was going to transform this team, he looked brutal last night. I don't know how long it's going to take for Pirlo and Lampard to start playing well together, or if they were just overly fatigued, but it's clearly going to be a process. Ugly to watch.

City looking dominant today. And to think they still might add De Bruyne to this midfield ... crazy.

If Yaya Toure can retain this form throughout the season and not the form he was in most of last year, City is going to be dominant.

Apparently they made a bid for Benzema too

Yep they are going after benzema. I think de bruyne to city is a forgone conclusion and shouldn't affect their pursuit of benzema. I think benzema would substantially strengthen the team because pelligrini like using a 4-4-2 and I'm not convinced with Bony yet
