Thanks, what I am asking is what could have happened in the last month to impact the formula enough to make the change? Argentina simply playing in and losing CA???

It will be very interesting to see how/if he is used...

He'll be used a lot right away. I can't wait for Klinsmann to use him in a natural role all the time because he's a killer. He'll go in right away at worst as their #2 striker as their number 1 left for Shalke and their number two is not that good. They brought in another young striker, but they like to use two forwards so he will either start or see plenty of PT right away because it's not a deep position for them.

My guess (along with yours) is that they accrued more points due to the CA (major tournament) while Ze Germans only played Euro Qual games (Not so major against not as "high level of competition"). Based on the amount of the matches and the disparity in importance/level of competition between the two, this is why Argentina is "#1"

Yes. All Argentina had was wins and it was an official competition so they'll get a lot of points. You get points for Friendlies but not as much especially if you're not In SA or UEFA. Germany just hasn't played so they're penalized for that. And this is why FIFA rankings need to be taken with a grain of salt

Roma was a weird team last year that played to their level of competition. Pretty sure they had like 15 draws or something absurd like that and had a streak of 10 draws in 13 games.

I've liked them in Serie A even now that Michael Bradley is gone but I think Inter Milan has a really strong team this year they've made a lot of good signings. Serie A is definitely seeing a resurgence of the top teams besides Milan.

Honestly, my biggest beef Serie A from a fan perspective is the stadiums/lighting and camera layout... that league is a horrible watch aesthetically as all the stadiums look dark and drab, the crowd is typically far and detached from the field, and the camera angles always seem off center and sub par... I know it's an odd complaint but watching them on TV it's very noticeable compared to other national leagues.

Serie A is becoming like La Liga, although to a lesser extent ... top-end teams have plenty of cash and plenty of quality, but lower-end teams are hurting for both. This year we even saw Parma go bankrupt. Crazy.

Two things, ...


First: watching this Seattle/Vanocouver CCL match is brutal, this is what the MLS looked like six years ago,... Just sloppy and borderline unwatchable... Hopefully CCL grows to justify more top players taking part.

Second: Fox released the schedule for Bundesliga,... Me happy, it's mirrors EPL on NBC in that it's a ton of games every week, bayern and Dortmund are listed just about every week.... I don't know if I'll watch a single EPL match this year....

Makes total sense, I'm in the same boat really, but don't watch La Liga and only watched the EPL out of lack of options...

1.) MLS
2.) SPL on FSP
3.) Bundesliga
4.) National Team

In no real order... I can't see myself watching much else now...

Yeah I'm a Liverpool fan so I will def watch those matches, but how much other EPL stuff I watch as opposed to Bundesliga may depend on how good Fox's coverage is. I really like NBCSN's Match of the Day and Goal Zone shows. I usually don't have time to watch them on the weekends, but I put them on in the background while I am cooking/cleaning up the kitchen on weeknights. If Fox is going to have equivalent review shows available on demand ... I might have a tough decision to make.
