So with the lock down I decided to kill time by going through some of my old stuff this weekend...

I didn't quite realize/forgot that I have a pretty large sports card collection from my youth hidden in an upstairs closet. Probably more than 30,000 individual cards when you add in the complete sets.

Curious if anyone still keeps up on the value of cards by chance? If so, how do I find it...did I hit the jackpot, please? :) Back in the day I (parents I should say) used to just by a Beckett but I'm not sure if it works that way anymore. I googled and found a site that is slow as fudge and not sure how reliable. It lists quite a few of these selling north of $200 a piece.

I didn't get through them all yet, but some notable gems I found include Mark McGwire, Roger Clemens and a couple Griffey Jr. rookie cards. I found like 5 Deion Sanders rookies. Another is a Fernando Venzuela card that had sold (per the site) for $500.

I still have a ton of mine too but don’t keep up with the value.

I’m also about to kickoff a Facebook page detailing my new season in Electric Football if anyone cares to follow. I’m mainly putting it out to the EF community but maybe a couple here would like to follow also idk

Beckett is still out there, fairly easy to use website. The cheapest way is to look up sales figures on Ebay. I think the best website is still http://www.watchcount.com/ for how many people are looking at items and completed sales. If most of your cards are mid to late '80s early '90s they probably aren't worth much outside of some rares.

I mostly just collect Notre Dame and 49er autographed cards and autographed memorabilia at this point, but have a ton of that good ole junk wax in the attic myself.

Thank you sir. I was surprised those sites were paid membership but on second thought that makes sense. Should I get bored enough I’ll use your suggestions

Gary Vaynerchuk is on a mission right now with old cards. He is super available via social media. I am sure if you shot him some messages, him or one of his people would circle back to help you. He believes these things will make a come back.

I gave all my cards away to a kid a few months ago. Sets from the mid 80s to early 90s. Still have some good older cards that I want to sell but it’s a hassle. Ernie Banks rookie, Johnny Bench rookie, Walter Payton rookie, and a bunch of others from the 40s, 50s, and 60s. Would rather just sell them all. Fun to look through them.

I just bought my first Drone. I fell in love. Drones are my new happy... Btw, why when people find out 'you' buy a drone, do they automatically think your spying?

It's almost as If the government made hobbies a law breaking thing.

My drone doesn't even care what your nasty ass looks like in the bath tube..... You aren't the 1 in a million, I'm even interested in. lol

So I started running again two days ago... I haven't ran in over 10 years, but a couple buddies have been running now a few months, and I figured this is the perfect motivation for me. I used to really enjoy it in high school. There was something about lifting and then taking a couple mile run after back then that really made me feel good.

Anyway, needless to say I am nowhere near the level of my friends, but that's good. It's giving me a few goals to achieve: Run as far as them, cut down my time, and maybe catch them. We'll see how this journey goes, but I'm actually excited to run.

I recently decided to run a marathon a year from now when I turn.... 55. I was never a long distance runner, played basketball & ran track up to the 400.

This is not going to be easy. I used to play basketball for 4-6 hours straight and never get tired but if I went out with the intention of running 5 miles? I had side cramps two blocks from the house. lol

I've always said if there was anything I could have, it would be the desire & ability to run long distance.

Anyways, the journey starts this week. *Gulp*

In other hobby news:

I just found the last bike I raced and am going to do a full restoration for display in my shop bar. This is what it looks like now (only with no wheels):

When I'm done, it will look like this.

I’d be interested in you vintage stuff. Anything from the late 80s through 90s is pretty much junk. Shoot me a DM w// pics if you can. If decent condition, they’d likely sell on eBay pretty quickly if your prices are competitive.

I had side cramps two blocks from the house. lol

Hey good luck fellas, I am an avid runner. Never ran a marathon but I put in about 20 miles a week with my dog. Might be obvious advice but I wanted to share anyways:

1. Have a playlist. Whatever gets you motivated or puts you in the "zone," whether it's rock and roll, rap, etc. Can get those juices flowing and I find it's a nice distraction. The right song can even get you to that "runners high."

2. Invest in nice shoes, and multiple pairs. I don't typically spend less than $100 on a pair of running shoes. It's something you're going to use several times a week, and they need to have good support and be durable. I also rotate between running shoes every couple of days, helps them to decompress and will last longer.

I enjoy doing some wood working projects. I am certainly not as skilled a you are.

What is your process for getting the designs on there? Or at least high level so you arent giving away your trade secrets.

great work btw

So I started running again two days ago... I haven't ran in over 10 years, but a couple buddies have been running now a few months, and I figured this is the perfect motivation for me. I used to really enjoy it in high school. There was something about lifting and then taking a couple mile run after back then that really made me feel good.
.

I recently decided to run a marathon a year from now when I turn.... 55. I was never a long distance runner, played basketball & ran track up to the 400.

I've always said if there was anything I could have, it would be the desire & ability to run long distance.

Hey good luck fellas, I am an avid runner. Never ran a marathon but I put in about 20 miles a week with my dog. Might be obvious advice but I wanted to share anyways:

These posts reminded me of a story from a long time ago, when running was just starting to catch on. Back then it was called it jogging. Anyway, an old sports writer for the Indianapolis Star named Bob Collins wrote, "The day I see a jogger with a smile on their face is the day I'll take up jogging". I always found that funny.

I play washers more than cornhole but always loved the idea of a set with Angels, Irish, Pens, Browns in the four corners.... love the artwork of many of the sets you see.

Thanks!

No trade secrets that I didn't learn from others being generous with their steps.

- first step is to use gel stain. I get either Varathane or General Finishes, and mix the colors with a universal colorant called Mixol. I apply with shop paper towels.

- I have a cheap vinyl cutter that cuts out the templates. Other options are to lay bunch of painter's tape (use the green Frog Tape) down, print out your design and lay on top of the tap, and cut away the parts your staining.
+or you can buy vinyl templates from someone who has a vinyl cutter

- use a hardwood plywood. My favorite is Baltic Birch. Birch takes stain a little better than maple. Don't use regular plywood as pine is too soft, and you won't get crisp lines with the stain. Also, don't use oak plywood as it is very grainy and the stain seeps under the tape.

Happy to answer any other questions.

My brother in law is mighty handy and made this for me with some scrap wood. I win the Halloween decor badge this year,....

Still hunting-gobblers and deer. Mostly bow.

Have gotten into LR shooting a bit. Took a 6.5 creed to 1700 yards, 63 yds short of a mile. I was rather pleased. Took at 30-06 and a 308 out to 1040 yards. Fun and empowering to know when hunting at 300-700 yards you can be extremely accurate. Wind calls are a challenge though.

Went out the other day to shoot right before hunting season-in NE now finishing up bow season with plans to rifle hunt. Took my 30-06 using previous data and dialed in 720 yards. 2 for 2. Went to 880, 2 for 2. Went to 1040, 3 for 4, and then out to 1200, 5 for 8, ending on 3 straight schwacks at the steel. Packed up and left-does not get much better than that IMO.
