Next best thing to the World Cup IMO!! Opening matches are less than a month away on June 8th.

Republic of Ireland

Ukrain
Sweden
France
England

Spain are the favorites but they have been vulnerable lately in friendlies. Portugal has loads of talent but can't seem to put it together for an entire tournament. Germany and Holland are always technically strong and Italy can never be counted out of a tournament. England and France are overrated IMO, especially England.

I'll be cheering on the Azzurri but have a feeling that Spain rises to the occassion yet again.

Group B is ridiculous. Damn. I always think the Dutch are strong, and they seem to fly under the radar. And they have Van Persie... as an Arsenal fan, I've seen the meteoric rise of his game.

LOVE this tournament! Gets me through the month of June/July SO much faster (as I eagerly await football season).

2008 was the first time in my lifetime that I had seen Spain win a major tournament title, so it was special to watch it with my dad (who is 78, born and raised there). I'll never forget finally beating Italy in PK's to advance to the semis, and El Nino's goal to win the championship.

Wouldn't surprise me at all to see Spain go down (they usually do AWFUL as favorites, but stepped it up in the WC, so you never know). Just please PLEASE beat France people!

I hate you. That is the exact moment where Liverpool unraveled. It's sad when I'm reduced to being happy that Man United didn't win the league as opposed to a Liverpool success.

Haha man it's all good. Arsenal got drubbed by Man U this year so I was happy to see them go down as well. Didn't expect the Gunners to make a run this year after the terrible start, but somehow got on a roll and locked in UEFA.

I like Liverpool too. I only really can't stand Spurs, maybe Chelsea. Not big on Man U either, but outta the northwest, love when Liverpool is good. Rabid fanbase for sure.

I never hated Chelsea until the traitor left for them at the end of the transfer window. Now I never want them to win anything. Liverpool needs to get back in the CL so I can stop with the hate.

Haha I didn't even catch that. Yea BvB did the double this year, with limited finances. It's nice to see that strategy succeed in this climate of club football.

Yea they are not underrated. Their midfield/front line should be second to none, but they always lack at the back, and that's why I won't pick them this year.

I voted for Spain initially, but now that I think about it I like the Germans. Their midfielders are absolutely ridiculous. Ozil, Gotze, Podolski, Schweinsteiger, Kroos. Oh yeah and they have Mario Gomez at forward. Can't complain about Boateng, Lahm, and Neuer keeping the ball out of the goal either.

A lot of these guys are also going to be coming off of a Champions League victory when Bayern crushes Chelsea. That will be a confidence builder.

Spain, Netherlands, and my dark horse of Ukraine are the rest of my semis.
