EA's Twitch has some some celebs playing BF1. Snoop Dogg was playing while smoking what appeared to be a marijuana cigarette.

Are we expecting anything major from Bethesda tonight? I see a lot of clamoring for a Skyrim remaster. Does that kind of thing actually sell?

I have no Idea what to expect from them. Maybe a Morrowind or Oblivion remake? A new IP? I have no clue.

Too soon for ES VI? I expect to see Fallout DLC for sure.

If they announce ESVI one of two things have happened: 1) they are announcing WAY ahead of release OR 2) they made ESVI on the same old-ass engine as Skyrim (would be a pretty big disappointment for me).

The battlefront game is going to be a WW1 themed online only ( for the most part) cluster fvk of peps running around like crazy? WW1?.... No thanks,

Add a CoD style story mode and I'd be mildly interested.

Battlefield multiplayer is much more strategic and skilled than CoD. And yes Battlefield 1 will have a story mode to go along with it. Call of Duty has been going down the drain for a few years now.

Can't be as bad as NBA 2Ks.... So cheesy

The fact that you couldn't switch it off was awful. It was fucking abysmal. The highschool part, listening to recruiting pitches, and college stuff was cool. I dont give a shit about some creepy ass childhood friend of mine, and was actually happy when I found out he died. They basically just stole the rookie season from myplayer.

Haven't played since MW2 I believe... But those stories were great imo... I can't ever get into battlefront fines bc they tend to lack any substantial single player or multiplayer offline modes.

Wait, nba2k had a lame story mode where your friend from the hood came around hitting you up and at some point he'd die??? And it was written by Spike Lee?... Lolol ... surprised, not at all.

COD has gone to shit mainly since MW2, but the first to Black Ops weren't that bad. Nothing really innovative anymore other than running on the damn walls. Story mode was pretty shit in Battlefield 4, although the gameplay was fun. The story was just stupid

MW2 was a great shooter and yeah forgot the BO games, enjoyed the first two, zombies are great, story modes are great... Never much liked any BF game I've played, I get the core engine is better but the game modes aren't really there aside from 'online cluster f" ... Just me.

Battle Field 1 looked pretty sweet. I may have to switch over to BF (or at least try it) since COD has all of these stupid futuristic, flying around the map, games now.

Torbjorn or however the hell you spell it.

Try D.Va really good easy character to learn IMO. Use her boost to fly around and get in peoples faces with her auto shotguns and generally just try to be a big nuisance to the other team by soaking up bullets.

I'd be all over BF1 if there was a full offline mode or story that isn't just 'capture the flag' or 'kill everything that moves' ... I totally expect online battles where everyone runs full speed through trenches or across no mans land like its nothing...

Give me a good story mode or at least bots that have programming for that style of warfare and I'll try it out.

I'm actually not terrible against the other n00bs I get matched with. My biggest problem right now is just that the learning curve is so steep and I feel like EVERYONE played the Beta. The game only came out few weeks ago and the gap between experienced player and newbie is huge. I've played with five or six characters so far and I do a decent job with each, but I'm not familiar enough with the whole roster to predict opponent behavior.

Here's the problem, and it's not popular to say. Video games are too cheap. Adjusted for inflation and development time, games should probably be up around $100. That's why we end up with 1) online only games, 2) buggy games, 3) season passes, 4) day-one DLC.

Really, they don't even have to raise prices to solve this. All they have to do is switch to digital-only distribution. That destroys the preowned market overnight and ensures that the developers are getting their cut of every copy sold. Problem solved.

Unpopular opinion, but I'm cool with this.

The only pre-owned games that I buy are the ones that I can't find "new" on Amazon, and that is generally rare. Most developers are still selling their titles on Amazon brand-new, even the super-old, early-PS3-era games.

I don't like to buy pre-owned if I can help it, because I simply don't trust Gamestop to properly check their games and I don't trust that the original owner(s) took care of their games like I do.

Also, I'm OCD. I want the case to be original and in good shape. You rarely get that with pre-owned games.

I don't know how you would do this but there also needs to be a cessation of the escalation war between companies when it comes to graphical fidelity. It's a diminishing return at this point and it takes up so much of a budget. Companies realizing that a solider's stubble does not need to be perfectly rendered would make games much cheaper to make. Unfortunately I don't know how they could do this, since sizzle reels and graphics are what sell games to the average consumer.

I can't wait for them to announce the 4K versions of the Xbone and the PS4. /sarc

I wish they'd stop trying to make 4K a thing. Unless you have perfect vision and 1) sit two feet from your television or 2) have a 90 inch television, 4K doesn't make jack shit difference. It looks wonderful when you're staring at it from six inches away at Best Buy, but that's not how people consume content.

Don't get me started on VR...

I think VR has a lot of potential and could do a lot for immersion which is always a good goal to reasonably pursue in an interactive medium. I don't know if we are there yet tech wise, which has me concerned. I'm also waiting on my "Mario 64 moment" with VR. Before Mario 64 it could have been argued that 3D was a fad or would always be second fiddle offshoots to 2D games, that was a gamechanger. VR needs a moment like that.

Was going to post in the VG thread, but I figured this would do. Just got an Xbox one and have been looking for new games/a decent shooter. Been having a good experience with Rainbow Six Siege.

Anyone play The Division yet? Seems on reddit its been getting a decent amount of flak. Ended up ordering it yesterday from Amazon for $25 ($39 originally, but had some points to spare).
