From a conversation in the Hargreaves thread.

What is a "Bro"? Do we lack it? Do we want it?

Here is the Urban Dictionary definition: Urban Dictionary: bro

If you're referring to definition 5 in your link, then no on your last 2 questions.

I have no idea what a Bro is. Is it different than a Brah? Whats a Brah? I'm older, we had Dudes and Buds.

It's not a bad thing, per se. But when bros get together in mass numbers, then tend toward group think and things get fratty.

I graduated in 2011 and we had a good number that played Lax for east coast prep schools and such. There were enough to make the school fun, but not so much that it was full of douche bags.

/end.

If there are 4 or less bros hanging out in a group it will be fine, you won't even know they are bros.

If there are 5-8 bros in a group, you will know it, but they won't be total douches

if there are 9 or more, just leave. You won't be able to handle their awesomeness

How big of a group are we talking about here?

I am a bit confused, the Hargreaves thread seemed to show a few different meanings for Bro.

Where I am, Bro and Frat are basically the same thing. Which is odd because it's almost a cross between prep and country. Bros/Frat Bros wear polo, boat shoes, and enjoy bow-ties, but they also like to wear boots and act like they lived on a farm at some point and throw in an entire can of grizzly dip. It's ironic really.

I take it you didn't read definition 5 from the link you provided in your OP.

A funny website that will help show what bro is. I dont think it is viewed in a bad way at all amongst the younger generation.
