Yeah, it would be tough to get up for the Camping World Bowl.

Isn't the Camping World bowl the old Citrus Bowl? I thought I read that somewhere.
If I remember correctly, why do people get weird when the bowl we attend isn't named after fruits or flowers (essence)these days?
Just curious...

They went out Tuesday or Wednesday evening. Curfew was 11:30 and the latest shuttle arrived at 11. I'd say there wasn't any alcohol involved. This Is all sourced through BK and his press conference.

Prister Is doing his job and creating a clickstream. My opinion anyway.

And BK also said the practice effort was very poor in the days after. Alcohol or not the vets haven’t had enough practices to mail in 1 or 2.

We must keep in mind that the first few bowl practices are heavy reps for younger players. So, of 10-12 practices our vets have had 5-7 good practices over the last 3 weeks. Am I missing something?

Not at all.
I haven't watched any of the practices and I really have no legitimate say.
Just keeping my hopes up and opinions of it all are made to dissect.

I wish the powers at will would show some video...

Who knows how it works out, we've heard about the team being super focused and getting jail sexed. Perhaps they had a really good last two practices after the coaches got into them hard saying.

Certainly would rather have the best practices ever but right now sounds like an easy out for a poor performance or a "our boys really turned it around" type comment after a win

I heard it was a lot of partying. It’s time to take Iowa St and the points.

If this is in fact true, I hope Iowa St. drops the hammer on them. What was Prister’s account of their prep before the Michigan game?

We all know the old saying about milk drinkers and whiskey drinkers. And, having watched this team play their butts off for nothing but pride since the Michigan game, I’m not sure I buy that they’re all checked out this week.
No doubt Iowa State is gonna come with it. But I suspect our guys will too. And if they do, we’ve plenty of talent to handle them.

Cut the crap. Your worst fears come true every kickoff ... at least in your mind.
Reports are saying our guys aren’t ready for the game....that’s the worst fear we all have for a game where on paper we should dominate. You’re right I’m nervous for every game but these are my reasons why.

ND has won exactly jack shit in the previous 30 or so years. They've been more competitive recently, but not enough to big-time *any* bowl game. They don't get to act like they deserve more than what they got after looking so stupid in Ann Arbor.

I think we'll be able to tell fairly quickly if they've put in the work and have their heart in it.

3 or 4 games into the season, I called for PJ or BC to replace Book. It was frustrating to me because Book is a competitor and wants to win... all the time.

There is NO WAY Book leads this team into the Bowl with anything less than a dominiant victory forecast. NO WAY! Not saying we blow Iowa away... they have a great, under-rated team, but The Irish are too strong, too deep and should have a giant chip on their shoulders.

Cheers and Go Irish!!

Good seats are available at very reasonable prices. I think I'll drop a sawbuck and go to the game.

What the F&$K???? Really???? Because of one night or two nights out the Irish have just thrown in the towel?????

Who are you guys on this site??? Not the same I've seen all year... is it because the Irish are in the Camping Bowl?? is this why the BS in the past 5/6 posts???

Geezus... I was 17 years old on a traveling baseball team and got to Birmingham a day early.... got drunk with some local b-ball players until 2am.. had to be at colors and presentation at 7am - 30 minutes away from hotel, sweating, sh!tty and half-asleep... got a fast ball 1/2 inch away from my chest, 2nd pitch and didn't move in the 4th inning still sweating and my third-base coach screamed at me to get into the game... two pitches later hit a drive 30' over right-field fence for a 3-1 win.......

because I was a kid having fun..... but when it was time to perform.. we put it together... you guys sound like the Irish shouldn't even take the field....

Maybe the new(er) guy shouldn’t be the one pointing this out but... 17 posts in 10 years? It takes a lot of discipline to chose the 1.7 times per year that u want to chime in on a conversation. Please don’t tell me your first 16 were all perfectly timed “that’s what she said” jokes. JK of course, Enjoy the game and go Irish buddy!

No, the Citrus Bowl is still the Citrus Bowl. Its Alabama vs. Michigan on New Years day this season.

The Camping World Bowl is in the same stadium as the Citrus Bowl and run by the same group, but its a different game. It was previously the Champ Sports Bowl (2004-2011) and the Russell Athletic Bowl (2012-2016).

I feel ya, man, and know you mean well. But careful not to assume we all aren’t fans because we are pessimistic about reports that the team is exhibiting too much slack. I was all in on that Michigan game (and especially vocal about it), and that was such a huge letdown, because they brought zero fight. I’m still gonna be cheering ‘til the end, but Kelly (yes, Kelly) better have these guys up. In spite of some people saying this is just a lose lose for ND, this squad still has amends to make and I expect them to play like it. We find out soon, brother.

Fwiw, there is a big enthusiasm gap here in Orlando. Iowa State fans are all over town, Irish not so much.

I'm going to shoot for three perfectly timed masterpieces in 2020.

I'm trying not to bang on everybody brother... never to insult fans either..

Meechickin game was totally a different situation...

These guys are in Orlando Florida for a bowl game..

Although 10-2, they earned the right to play there...

Iowa State is going to bring it - no doubt..

but to think that going out one night to have a good time and running drills to 'whose' expectations (a reporter???) and this is going to be a 'Wash' is unacceptable to me...

just my thought and opinion... not a bash on you brother......

If you want a sneak peek at what a motivated Iowa team looks like, watch Iowa vs USC. A "slow" Iowa team vs 5 star talent.

Believe me, the state of Iowa wants this win over ND. Both teams are obsessed with the Irish from a negative perspective.

I made it a point to say i didn’t think going out on the town the first few nights was a big deal. Most teams allow their kids to do that...they’ve earned that much if not more. My issue was even BK & some of the players (Finke) acknowledged the effort has been less than stellar thus far. Combine that w/ the fact that one of the reasons Vegas supposedly set the spread at -3.5 was b/c ND was disinterested in this game & fans will inevitably freak out and assume the worst. After the UM debacle, I’m guilty as charged.

Agreed. Although, losing Slovis sealed SC’s doom but you’re right Iowa impressed me on offense as I wasn’t expecting the scoring.

I’m at a family even in Nashville and there are a ton of Iowa fans here. Not sure if all Hawkeye fans feels this way but they’re rooting for Iowa St tomorrow. They told me the hate is typically one direction from Ames to Iowa City...not the other way around. Who knows?

Iowa fans like to dismiss ISU fans, but believe me it's a big deal that Hawkeye fans are in line with Cyclone fans for this one. I don't get it, but the state of Iowa hates ND.

I understand your point and it was well taken....

Also, many know me on this site and my 'betting' with 'others'....

Vegas set -3.5 the line the day the teams were announced.............. nothing - NOTHING has to do with the disinterest in the Bowl game.... it is based on Iowa State being a good team and only losing to pretty good teams by 2 or 3 points

The true freshman RB for ISU (Hall) is a weapon. Had he been the starter all season he projected over 1300 yds rushing. Has a nice spin move that he uses almost every time he senses contact. Watching his highlights and I’d take him over any RB the Irish currently have on campus. He was a low 4* so it’s not like he was some diamond in the rough.

Purdy isn’t as athletic as Book but he can move the chains with his legs and isn’t afraid to keep on RPO. I can’t believe how well he throws off his back foot. He will drive Irish fans crazy tomorrow as their offense is methodical and he is great and sensing & eluding pressure.

The offense certainly poses challenges and if we don’t show up it could be bad but logically, they haven’t scored much against the comparable defenses they’ve played. Iowa (17pts), Baylor (21pts), and KSU (17pts) have all held them in check. It seems reasonable to expect similar results.

Its BK and the coaching staffs job to get them prepared. If the kids aren't engaged, it's their job to engage them. If they play listless, it's on the coaches. If they fail here, it's a step back IMO.
