They think ND's statistical rankings are inflated by bad teams and that they'll be the best teams we've played. There might be some truth to this but they're being extemely selective in their uses of stats to justify their confidence.

They are also going to naturally be a little swaggy because they are 100% playing with house money. If they win it's the greatest victory in the history of their program. If they lose

Let’s not forget that ND is kinda in a no win situation: if we win, the narrative will be “so what, you beat fucking Indiana”, if we lose “HOLY HELL, YOU LOST TO NIU AND INDIANA! In the same year!”

IU fans know this, and have nothing to lose shit talking.

Wow, when you put it like that, it sounds awful. Who would have even ventured to have guessed that Notre Dame would only lose two games and those two games being to IU and NIU. But I don’t think it happens but it is a very weird thought.

Oh it gets worse. It would also mean that historically IU got a playoff win before ND.
