It's interesting to see a shift in COVID perceptions and positions given the Omicron variant. I just saw two articles in the Atlantic today talking about how 2022 Democrats are starting to sound like 2020 Republicans when it comes to COVID fears or lack thereof, as well as the CDC's reduced guidelines for COVID procedures. "Rethinking Mild COVID." This is definitely a stark difference from the Atlantic's previous stances, especially after they spread a lot of doom and gloom early regarding the unknown Omicron variant in November.

Biden said he would beat Covid. The White House still pushing mandates and doom and gloom. Covid is getting "better". Wouldn't you think the White House would want to take advantage of this and try to take credit? Or are they just bent on damning the unvaccinated, nonmaskers and Donald Trump?

They are woefully inadequate in every area except for advocating for vaccines and masks. So they'll just blame anyone who doesn't listen to their shit.

Woke actress Susan Sarandon has made her feelings known. Yesterday she tweeted a pic of cops at the funeral for one of the fallen NYC officers that included a caption that read, "I’m gonna tell me kids this is what fascism looks like,” the headline on the original tweet reads.

Sarandon's own comment on the tweet was, “So, if all these cops weren’t needed for CRIME that day, doesn’t that mean they aren’t needed ANY day.”

Another idiotic comment from another idiot. Never thought she was hot.

Remarkable!
Just discovered this in a precis of the work of Harry Frankfurt
in a compilation by Tom Butler-Bowdon of "50 Philosophy classics"

"On Bullshit"

"One of the most salient features of our culture is that there is so much bullshit. Everybody knows this. Euach of us contributes his or her share. But we tend to the situation for granted. Most people are rather confident of their ability to recognize bullshit, adn to avoid being taken in by it. So the phenomenon has not aroused much deliberate concern, nor attracted much sustained inquiry. In consequence,s we have no clear understanding of what bullshit is, why there is so much of it, or what functions it serves."

Later, Frankfurt expands.

"One reason is that many of us are called or provoked to talk on matters of which we know little; in a democracy we are expected to have opinions on a range of issues, so we blurth them out to avoid the horror of saying "I DON"T KNOW>"

Fascinating

I don't profess to be an expert on any topic, but I'm well rounded in everything so I can avoid having to bullshit my way through life. :ROFLMAO:
In truth I speak very little, I'd rather absorb. "I am the wisest man alive, for I know one thing, and that is that I know nothing."

Lao Tzu, dat you???!!!!

He who knows, does not speak. He who speaks, does not know.

Lao Tzu

Or as one of my bosses in the late 80s used to say "you have five holes in your face:

two eyes
two ears
one mouth

(apparently his now was closed shut!)

He suggested "If you spend more than 20% of your time talking then you are out of sync with your head."

For my own part? Scar tissue brings more wisdom than brain tissue, but some may disagree

I believe the quote came from "So-crates."

I just found this short video by Thomas Sowell about the root of current inner city Black culture and its similarities to poor White culture and the roots of both in poor, southern Scottish culture from centuries ago. Interesting stuff.

Tell someone they are by birth everything that’s wrong with the eo
When the Blacks, Hispanics and Asians find out straight white guys forced them to eat meat Omaha Steaks will be out of business.

How in the world does someone like her come to believe that?
the key isn’t her believing it,… it’s everyone else giving her a forum and taking her seriously,… that’s been the issue

Given the reaction, I don't think anyone believed her. Maybe they were just looking for a good laugh to break up the daily boredom.

Shutting down the bridge to Windsor - apparently one fourth of all US/Canada trade crosses that bridge. Detroit auto chartering freight planes to transport parts between plants on opposite sides apparently. All b/c the crazies can't admit masks are nothing but theatre - we really going to have to pry those things off their cold dead faces? Such a dumb hill to die on but here we are. Can't get over how schools are the last place to lose mandates - lowest risk cohort the last to get the boot off their neck.

Maybe US should invade Canada to free its people instead of worrying about Ukraine? Blackface Trudeau hung in the town square.

Curious to see if "Trudeau hung in the town square" will receive any pushback from IE's squad. Surely advocating for a someone with political differences to be hung would spark a comment.

Lol. If it was a serious comment, it certainly would. You want us to respond to something that was obviously said in jest?

I think the majority of IE, and the world, aren't triggered like you.
I'm hoping you've checked in on Peter Doocy since, you know, he was called a son of a bitch and that's just like domestic abuse lol.

I distinctly reminder saying as a joke Drayer's least favorite month was February, and got a pretty big pushback. People have made comments about their political rivals being dictators or that they should be hung, and there has been crickets. Just an observation. I don't expect anyone to be impartial.
