Oh they’ve figured it out but choose not to. I asked why since it would be more efficient for all. Airline said it’s courtesy to their first-class/business class customers who pay more.

I think it’s fair to say that those in 1st class/biz class are intelligent to realize that the most efficient way to board a plane is back to front. Are they that childish about being “first’ that they can comfortably wait at the gate before boarding after all the “riff raff” & not inconvenienced by everyone brushing up against them as they walk past first class.

I have no problem allowing business class passengers to board first if they want to. On a domestic flight that's maybe 10 rows of people, and they paid for the right to do it. But there is absolutely no reason whatsoever that the other 40 rows of people should not be seated from back to front.

We are reaching a point (have already reached?) where community and shared understanding of things like babies, children, people, etc. is gone. We are so self absorbed and live isolated to the point that a baby is seen as a major inconvenience.

On my last flight to Eastern Europe (Vienna with a stopover in Paris), a baby across the aisle screamed most of the way. I have great tolerance in everyday life, but it was excruciating. The first hour I felt sorry for the mother and baby. After that, it was just torture. Everyone around us starting plying themselves with liquor. I did too, but it really didn't help. As soon as anybody would nod off, the crying would begin again.. I can tell you what I felt had nothing to do with isolation or inconvenience. To add salt to the wound, had a typical awful experience at De Gaulle before finally leaving for Vienna. I've been on a ton of hops with crying babies that didn't bother me, but even the most understanding and tolerant have limits.

Agree on the overhead bins,... just get rid of them.

This. And checked bag fees are a major problem with the efficiency of loading and unloading as well. Just raise the prices of every ticket, but make checked bags included. A family of four (including a baby and a six year old) with a carry-on bag each is way more of a problem than if they had just checked a single fifty pound bag and then carried on nothing but their backpack/briefcase/purse/Nintendo.

Better yet, eliminate overhead bins entirely. Make everybody check anything that doesn't fit under the seat in front of you.

I have been a part of and heard too many horror stories with lost baggage to get on board with forcing everyone to check a bag. If it fits in the overhead bin you should be able to bring it with you on the plane. They just need to strictly enforce size and quantity limits and go from back to front and everything would be more efficient.

Airlines should charge full price for a human being no matter the age. It would deter parents from traveling with young children. I am not a parent yet, but it seems to me that there are very few situations where a parent absolutely has to fly with their infant child. That trip to Disneyland can wait until your kids are all 4 years old. If Aunt Dolly wants to see you at Christmas she can fly to you.

What I see frequently is people putting their bags in the overhead bins instead of under the seat in front of them. This would solve many issues with running out of space in those.

I've experienced "lost" or delayed luggage a few times. I absolutely carry on whenever I can, especially if I'm switching planes. One of my buddies from TX had his luggage pretty much shredded. Not sure if it got stuck in the conveyor or what, but what they gave him looked like it was put through a blender lol... I had to take him clothes shopping that afternoon. He always wears his boots on planes instead of packing them now. Lost a high dollar pair of custom made shit kickers.

Right, but this is an enforcement issue. Flight attendants should not permit people to do that if the plane is full.

Children under 2 are free only if they're going to share a seat with their parent.

I prefer taking my children with me on vacations and I don't arrange family holidays based on the convenience of another passenger on the same flight.

I've never had an issue but my sister in law has had stuff stolen out of her bag a couple times. We all met up in Vegas some years ago and she bought some insanely overpriced outfit, all excited, packs it up, gets home to find it's not in her bag anymore...... I had to lol

I had an Ipad Mini stole from my checked bag to Vegas..... Some other electronics went missing from my bag to Belize. I definitely don't pack/check that kind of stuff anymore. The Belize loss happened first, and I just chalked it up to "Central America duh". Then Vegas, so I thought both happened in ATL. Probably happens everywhere though. F'ers...

Nothing is worse than being on a plane, sandwiched next to fat guy who takes all your armrest and a third of your actual seat so you can’t even sit back without getting way more intimate than you’d ever want, which forces you the sit forward but you can’t because jackass in front of you reclined back all while the baby behind you goes ape shit the entire flight.

I understand people and feel their collective pain so I’m not a dick but does massively suck and I frankly hate air travel bc stuff like that. I’m less sympathetic about babies in theaters. You do not have to go there and when that was my season of life I chose not to go if I couldn’t find a sitter because it’s massively disrespectful to those who paid good money ( and it’s really expensive now let’s face it) only to have my kid inevitably cry in the middle of the film, just my two cents on that,...

You should pay more if you're fat. They charge more for overweight bags, people should be no different. Maybe a sliding scale (pun intended) on price where you set the over/under at 200 lbs. for dudes. Get a break if you're under, pay more for the over. I would be ok with body fat% as well to not penalize taller people. Would be fun having to weigh in before getting on the plane. A little shame may keep the fatties off the plane. Hot chicks get a discount as well.

Yeah, was gonna say 175 to make it really bad. Ok then, have it your way. We will take a year and weigh everybody in before they get on the plane. We’ll use that to figure out averages. Discounts also available for certain skills, such as being able to fly the plane in an emergency.

Why we can't have nice things: UVA opens a multicultural center and a student (applauded by many) goes around telling white students and such to basically gtfo this place ain't for you...

https://www.foxnews.com/us/universi...le-at-schools-new-multicultural-center-report

"..frankly there’s the whole university for a lot of ya’ll to be at. And there’s very few spaces for us to be at.”

My point in the Trump thread today... too many people have been told ad nauseam they are victims, just, righteous and moral while anyone that doesn't agree wholesale with their leanings are literally the devil that you now have stuff like this.

1.) Where on campus can POCs not "be at"?? Give me a damn break...
2.) Multicultural is now apparently code for "Fuck whites"...
3.) 'I'm against racism and for appreciating other's cultures so gtfo white people' is as stunning logically as it is now common. Do people not listen to themselves?
4.) Imagine a University where a white student tells minorities to leave a space because too many of them make whites uncomfortable........

Thanks for the rant.

They're segregating whites, bottom line. They're trying to move backward here.

This should be fun to watch. I'm sure some on Twitter are melting down.

I get that but I always thought they were paying for the comfort, seat location and food/beverage perks. What is the benefit of getting to your assigned seat before everyone else? The plane isn’t going anywhere until everyone at the gate is boarded. I’ve flown 1st & business class several times and I just didn’t see being first one to board as some exclusive perk. In fact, once you’re seated, You aren’t getting up because the aisle is now congested with travelers boarded the plane. But if it’s that important to those who pay, at least your last statement would be a great improvement.

I am very interested to see how the left handles this whole thing, I honestly am... which one of protected classes get shoved off the victim podium here and how do they frame the optics of it all??

Overhead space is probably the biggest reason people want on as early as possible.

Agree 100%. Lot's of sub stories. I think the left sjw mob will basically say F the women. Most left female politicians will likely side with the women. The left ultra woke (like the squad) will likely side with the trans. Would love to see the question get asked at one of the dem debates
