Anybody else struggling to do anything at all on defense? Got my ass handed to me by A&M to start my dynasty.

Can’t figure out how to make open field tackles, and my DB’s weren’t within 5 yards of the A&M receivers any time the Aggies threw more than 10 yards down the field.

Then I couldn’t get a stop on run defense when I finally closed the gap a bit.

I've seen people talk cheese strategies, but I don't go in for that shit. I'm still playing as OC, and I play it straight up offense only like before, so I haven't had to mess with it much yet personally. I can tell you that Navy was running the ball all over my ass until I started predicting their play calls.

Gotta be honest I haven’t played much defense but I played my cousin last night. I could call pass each play and I could tell my DBs what leverage to play with and it felt like it didn’t matter. So I’m not sure what advice to tell you there.

But with tackling you gotta at least square up last second with L2. Avoid hit stick unless you know you’re going to find your mark.

Don’t dive tackle pressing square (PlayStation), rather square up with L2, like Beau said, and press X. That has helped me be better, but yeah.

Pursuit angles are awful which doesn’t help.

It’s a setting you decide when you start the dynasty that allows the computer to recruit for you. You’re angry at the game for something you missed.

No im not. I’m not willing to spend the time going through all the different settings to set it up. Beyond that there are many other things about it that I do not like. I said it was a waste of my time and money. If you guys like it have at it. It’s not my jam. Have fun.

This sounds like someone who wants to play real football but doesn't want to run, throw, or tackle.

May not work for you but I like to switch to sideline view for defense. Makes it look like a real broadcast. Then I let the defense do its thing on autopilot. I just change schemes, blitzes, etc. I never play as anyone but Mills or Cross. Morrison and Watts will get interceptions if I leave them alone.

A&M's d-line gave me hell, and it got too late in the game for my effective running game to bring me back.

I found out after the game that my depth chart changes from the preseason menu didn't stick, though. I used the default roster rather than the updated roster, which is probably part of the problem. Kiser was at rush end for some reason, and Greathouse/Faison barely played even though I swear I moved Greathouse up to #2 on the depth chart, with Faison in the slot.

Game two started rough against NIU. Threw three (!) interceptions with Leonard, but then started to get the feel for the passing game in the second half, and ended up blowing them out.

Pass rushing when controlling defense is kind of a cheat code when you know the offense has to throw the ball, which I guess is kind of a nice bit of realism.

On a screen you're already on. It's the first thing you do when you start a dynasty. He's making it seem like you have to dig to find it.

You literly have to scroll over that option to get to start.

i'm probably asking a dumb question but anyway to play a regular season without playing other people online like i wanted to play road to CFP but couldn't figure out how to play it without playing other people rather than playing old way pre online mode

You have to square the defender with strafe l2 on ps5 and no hit stick

Yes that's just the regular dynasty mode.

Years ago EA sat down with a former NFL lineman and went over blocking schemes and improvements. They need to do that again. I've noticed my guards will try to get to the 2nd level and they'll completely bypass linebackers and start running past safeties even toward the endzone. I have no idea WTF is going on there.

Are you playing as ND? They have our o line as pretty poor and it shows from my experience

No, currently playing as Ball State and building them up, but I'm in my 4th season and my OL are all 82 OVR or better. I don't think it's a player issue, there's no logical reason my OL should be deeper than their Safeties.

I haven't done Road to Glory, and I have no intention of touching Ultimate Team, but so far I think a 7/10 is fair. I think it's better than the last game in ways, but a few things are missing and a few things could be tweaked. I'm really disappointed they didn't include the audio file upload personally, that would have bumped it up to 8/10 for me.

I don't know, he's bringing the experience of 4 straight National Titles with Utah. He's show patience since he's lived among the Mormons during that time. Sounds like a winner!

I have barely played dynasty or other game modes, I've played kickoff and mostly road to CFB playoff. Based off those 2, I'd give it an easy 8 out of 10, and the game feels a little smoother since their most recent update. Tackling is really my main complaint really which is more of a me problem.

I'd give the most recent Madden I played a 5/10 so definitely the best sports game for me in a while.
