Big assumption. If they don't let us create players, seems odd to let us edit players to max them out.

From what I’ve read the issue is people not being able to create players that opted out of the game. Why would the devs care about me maxing out players in my own offline dynasty?

Dynasty deep dive makes me feel at ease, finally, that they meant it when they said they’d take care of the core player base (dynasty players) before anything.

The customization, recruiting, transfer portal, changes to coaching carousel, etc. seem to have had some real work put in, and the cast of college football writers and personalities that they used for input/reference/advice was very solid.

We’ll see how the game plays… but the off-field management stuff, which was always my favorite aspect of the previous games, should be pretty great (after they work out the weird bugs in recruiting and coach carousel that will inevitably pop up after a few in-game seasons)

Perhaps I'm not understanding. How can the developers be held responsible for what users do with the game, via customizations/player creations? One of my favorite things was creating myself and going on to be the all-time record holder at whatever position I played. I'd play as myself and pile up the stats.

Instead of doing that, I can maybe edit John Smith to improve his numbers/rating? I'm really curious how they are trying to thread this needle. Seems overly cautious if I'm understanding correctly.

I don't really understand it either tbh. Seems like a pointless distinction. As long as EA themselves don't put Arch Manning in the game how can they be held responsible for me recreating him? But that's the way I've seen it described so idk.

I enjoyed creating myself and trying to recruit myself. Didn't always work!

Trying to piece things together...

Backdooring current athletes into the game definitely isn't going to work. EA has mentioned that several times.

I swear I saw EA say somewhere (but I can't find it) that create-a-recruit would be in the game. But, that wasn't in the dynasty deep dive. However, I'm not sure that's something you want to publicize when you're marketing dynasty and recruiting as 10x deeper and more realistic than in the past.

I think editing recruits and players is available, but again it wasn't mentioned in the deep dive. For example, the development trait is not unlockable in the scouting process. If you create a recruit, can you unlock it? Can you unlock this when they arrive on campus? I'm not sure how stuff like that will work.

To be fair... my dad is in his late 50's now. He loved playing football games.

During Covid, he bought an Xbox and tried playing again. Dude looked miserable lol. Threw INT's every other drive. If you let him call plays, he'd do great. Far better than me at understanding football itself but just...not good at video games anymore.

So in a sense, I do think some folks will be very disappointed. It's been a decade.
