Campbell is a good call. He would be on the list at if he’s at Michigan for sure. He’s a screamer on the sidelines as well. Worse than BK has been in the last decade.
Speaking of BK screaming, someone posted a list of his terrible games at ND. So I went back at watched the condensed version of the South Florida game from 2011 for a refresher. I would have been worse, I'm now giving him a pass on that game and being purple. The team turned the ball over 5 times and 3/4 times they were inside the 5. That's enough to make anyone go crazy...LOL

What a miserable game. Can't believe you watched it again. You're sick man.

If Ole Miss makes the playoff, I really don't see how Kiffin would leave for another college job. Would all of the other big jobs (LSU, Florida, etc.) stay open until late December or early January? I can't see their AD's putting all of their eggs in the Kiffin basket and waiting for his season to end.

Swiped from the big lead

BetOnline.ag has released odds for what Kelly’s next job will be. They listed many schools, including ones that don’t have a head coach vacancy at the time this was published, but where another coach is on the hot seat.

As of now, Kelly is favored to remain in the SEC and end up with the Arkansas job. They have Kelly as a 3/1 favorite to get the Razorbacks job. UCLA, Virginia Tech and Stanford are next up on the list.

Arkansas 3/1
UCLA 4/1
Virginia Tech 5/1
Stanford 7/1
Oklahoma State 8/1
UNLV 10/1
Ole Miss 12/1
Tulane 12/1
Penn State 14/1
Florida State 16/1
Wisconsin 18/1

Though Kelly’s odds favor him going to Arkansas, he is lower on the list of Arkansas candidates, behind a few other coaches, like Rhett Lashlee. He is also lower down their list for the odds on the next UCLA and Virginia Tech coaches. All of this suggests that it might take some time for Kelly to find a new gig, though he will likely have suitors.

Brian Kelly has spent the last 15 years coaching at two of the very best program in the sport and earned, I dunno, $75 to $100 million along the way. Why the fuck would he want to coach at Arkansas?

They’re dumb enough to hire Petrino as their OC after what happened before, they might be dumb enough to hire BK

Kelly’s contract reportedly included a “duty to mitigate” clause, essentially meaning he's required to actively pursue another lucrative job, assuming he wants to get paid. That might have changed if there was a settlement.

All of the top schools are financially neglecting football. If BK goes to any, he will lose a lot, and we all know how graceful Brian is in defeat.

If - as has also been reported - they settled to reduce the buyout by roughly half, I'd bet that was part of the negotiation.

Even if it wasn't, Kelly made more than $30 million in his four years at LSU, plus at least that much I'm sure in his 11 at Notre Dame. He also seems to have zero passion for coaching anymore, and has nothing left to prove short of winning a national championship.

Point is, if I were him and had $60 million in the bank, I'd happily leave buyout money on the table to not spend my mid-60s coaching Arkansas.

BK looked like a broken man on Saturday night. Zero energy. I have a hard time buying he's going to Arkansas or anywhere else. Take the money and run.

Ego? JMO, but I have to think he doesn't want to have being fired be the last thing on his resume. My initial thought is he would end up at a lower level program like a Tulane, Costal Carolina, Massachusetts, etc.. There are some AD's at bigger programs that will probably look at him and justify talking to him because they think expectations at LSU are unreasonable.

I could see him taking a few years off and maybe landing a job not as a head coach but some other job title.

Agreed, he may have missed his NFL shot but that's where his style belongs. Run it like a business and he doesn't have to grind on kids to get him to commit. If I were BK, I'd tell my agent "NFL or nothing" and unfortunately for BK it may be too late.

I think it's very late for the NFL. Stranger things have happened, but at this point, he really should just ride off with his millions. If he were a bit younger, it would seem obvious that he try to land another HC job.

Va Tech 247 site sounds cautiously optimistic they are trending towards a deal for James Franklin

For sure. How many programs are you saying is a clear tier above Va Tech + Franklin + reported in NIL increase? Miami and Clemson….end of list? Maybe Louisville (w/ Brohm) and SMU (w/ Lashlee). Till FSU fires Norvell.

That’s fair.

I think Brent Key is a better coach, better current trajectory, and is in a recruiting hot bed. I’ll be fairly surprised if he’s not sought after this offseason.

I’d have to brush up on if they are imposing academic restrictions or not. I know they usually get a big fish or two recruit. Think he would be a potential hire for LSU.

Per the Georgia Tech people on r/CFB, Tech effectively requires Calculus and then some for all students. There's been a little leeway made, but you can't be a Yellow Jacket without playing at least some school
