IMO, SMU is in a better spot than UA. I don't think Lashlee takes it without an obscene offer.

Tyson and the Walton's famously don't support Hog football with NIL, so unless that changes, Arkansas isn't going to be attractive for head coaches at progrums with significant resources, like SMU. Yurachek said yesterday Pittman didn't have the resources he needed to compete.

Hell, Virginia Tech is a better job. They have tons of money but haven't been willing to spend it and there was a piece out last week about how they're ready to do so now.
(Edit: this was approved last night by the Board of Visitors, their governing body)

Infinitely easier win and make the playoffs from the ACC than the SEC.

I just laugh when Gruden’s name continually comes up. I think it came up in UT coaching search b/c his wife was a cheerleader there or something. Then, of course; ND b/c his dad was RB Coach there. I think he does have some similar connection to AR but to want to recycle guys who A) are proven failures like Petrino or B) have never been HC in college &/or out of coaching for some time is desperate.

It's the holy trinity of every coaching vacancy: Saban, Gruden, and Meyer.

No lie when it comes to real estate...last place I lived the house was only 5 years old when we moved in. The house and a dozen others were built where a school had been torn down. Problem was in was in the middle of a shitty low income area with drug problems next to the tracks. We'd get strung out people knocking on our door and actually asking questions like "Do you guys lock your garage?" I've got a lot of stories about that place.

Yeah. I had to look him up. Grad Assistant 1988 but Holtz elevated him to Asst coach in 1989 when someone left.

He was Kiffin's DC at USC from 2010-2013.

I am probably inclined to agree with you though. Not a DC candidate for ND. I think he's going to have opportunities. It feels like in this era nothing is ever out of the question, but I think Coach Free and Coach O are friends, but it likely stops there and there is a long shot chance Freeman has O on his staff.

Whoever has him as an assistant of any kind, you're going to have a very big personality on your staff. Who has baggage in his recent and distant past.

Word is Yella Wood has decided to worry about family and generational wealth and has pulled way back. Don’t know how true that is. As far as who Auburn would target? No idea but I am sure the Auburn faithful’s list of expectations far exceeds the reality of their situation.
