Bring Caleb and get him $10M nil instead of going to nflThis feels prime for Lincoln Riley.

I've read his buyout is an estimated $100M. That's with the current contract he has which is one of the highest in college football on top of buying out the coach they want to go away. My guess is they're going to have to come up with more money to get him a DC of their choosing, not his, because at this point it's pretty clear who is calling the shots down there. This feels prime for Lincoln Riley.
Never understood the fascination with Jimbo. He got his championship off a Bobby built program and hasn’t shown much since.
Nice of TAMU to make the list of shame twice
Interesting list for sure. I LOL’d at Dan Campbell’s name. Man revitalized the Lions and poised to be NFC North champs for the next few years; why on earth leave the NFL for a mid-table team in the SEC.![]()
Texas A&M Hot Board: 12 candidates to replace Jimbo Fisher as head coach
On3's Andy Staples delivers 11 potential candidates to be the Texas A&M Aggies head coach after Jimbo Fisher.www.on3.com
I wouldn’t go after Franklin. He’s a decent coach, but not great. Not saying it’s the right hire, but he’s guided a tier two program to I believe top 15 finishes in six of the last eight years (pending this year) and has won multiple NyE 6 bowl games + a conference championship. He is also regarded as a top five recruiter in the business.
As a life long Pennsylvania resident and having multiple PSU grads in my family I understand his shortcomings completely. Head coaches with almost 15 years of data almost always have some type of red flag.
I’m sure there are better candidates out there, just not sure how realistic their buyout / desire to leave their current setup is for A&M.
Of course, I have no idea if Franklin even would want the job over his current setup.
However, Franklin and his agent strategically setup his last contract extension buy out lanaguage for this exact type of scenario.
Wait, wasn't Orgeron's buyout big? Maybe I'm just thinking of the funny story.
I don’t really get why Lanning would leave Oregon for TAMU.A lot speculation is saying Lanning to TAMU and then Kiffin to Oregon,; or Elko to TAMU and then Riley Leonard to ND as QB
It would also be a mistake by TAM.I don’t really get why Lanning would leave Oregon for TAMU.
TAMU might pay better up front but Oregon still has plenty of money to offer, especially in the Big Ten. And you are far more likely to make the playoffs at Oregon - which will walk in to the B1G as a top three or four program in the conference (one of which is a hopefully-crippled Michigan) - than you are at A&M which has been barely better than average for most of its time in the SEC and now has Texas and Oklahoma to contend with. Winning 10 games looks a lot easier at Oregon.
Also, Lanning is young enough to be choosy. The odds he eventually gets fired at A&M are high, which would set him back. Or he can hang at Oregon for a few years and if he does well, have his pick of even better jobs.
What am I missing? He’s not a Texas guy is he?
We’ll find out tomorrow… nd doesn’t have to announce like most othersReally glad we've been able to keep our OC while every other program does what serious programs do. Was worried for a minute we might lose war Daddy.
Today would be a REALLY good day to move on from our OC
I hope this sets A&M back years.
From consistently 8-4 to consistently 7-5?

Was Winston a 5 star?I'm no great fan of Fischer but this just isn't true. He won his national championship at FSU his fourth full year there. Bowden's players were all long gone by then.
He's a pretty mediocre gameday coach, but a great recruiter and caught lightning in a bottle with Winston, which resulted in a ring.
