Would be fun to do this exercise for any iteration of Kelly's ND staff prior to 2017.

So Clemson has lost its AD, DC and OC. Basically Dabo is the last man standing.

I wonder if Dabo is tempted to start looking elsewhere? It doesnt look like Saban is going anywhere any time soon... so waiting for the Bama job might not make sense.

That was a heck of a staff. I would imagine Bama's head coach after Saban eventually retires will come from this group. Assuming Napier does well at UF, I'd be happy with Tucker, Cristobal or Napier.

Where would he go. He's still in a pretty good place, but it will be interesting to see who he hires and how well they do. Does Venables take some of his defensive staff with him?

It's really interesting to hear the Clemson fans right now. I work with a few and I played Clemson's home golf course last week - lot's of talk in the clubhouse. To a man they are all worried that Dabo is going to make internal hires for all of these openings instead of going outside and getting more experienced/successful coordinators from other schools. Major concern from the Clemson fanbase that the good days are over. It really reminds me of the angst we always had with BK and his hires.

I work with a ton of Clemson Engineering grads and they are internally screaming at this point. They act like a 9-3 season after the run they just had is a death sentence. Now add loss of AD, OC and DC with just BYOG standing... lol. Shane Beamer needs to make some moves and close that gap.

I'm just telling you what Clemson fans are saying. They can't wait to get rid of Elliott and say that Jeff Scott had far more to do with their offensive successes despite his poor HC record in South Florida.

That's fair. Elliott and Venables could supposedly never take HC jobs these last few years because they were always in the playoff hunt for a National Championship. I assume most fan bases will be most critical of their own coaching staffs. UVA is probably considering itself lucky to have Elliott considering he was a part of that staff for so long. It doesn't always work, hiring lieutenants from successful programs, but they have to try something.

There was a time a few years back that I thought Dabo was genuine. I don't think that's the case any longer. He's getting his now and that's all that matters. I give him credit for what they've done and for the fact that to this point they haven't had a lot of transfers out of the program, but if this thing starts to unravel on him now I'd be fine with it.

Only bad thing is if this directly or indirectly results in a Miami and or FSU resurgence.

Dabo's shtick will not travel well.

A&M 247 guy saying real interest between Elko and Duke. Anyway this cuts, some quality coordinator names we have relations too are taking jobs we probably won’t really have to worry too much about in the future, which is good. Gattis, Elliott, Elko in this weird back and forth of Virginia and Duke candidacy.

Wonder why the Virginia job can't get locked down.

Hold up is due to length of assistant coaching contracts and facilities. Something should be done later this morning either way. If Elliott isn't in, they'll move on. I'd assume if not he's in line for the Duke gig.

It's down to Duke, UVA, Temple and Oregon right now. Oregon's DC Ken Wilson took the Nevada job.

If Oregon goes for Kelly, I hope UCLA turns to Sitake. If he builds a UCLA program in that BYU imagine, it's going to be fun watching his teams physically torment Lincoln Riley.
