he had a bad fallout with them when he was the oc before.....he SHOULD be an NFL head coach but keeps getting passed over...

Tbh if Nagy fails next year, I'd be so down for the Bears to hire him

And isn't getting negative feedback when he does. Which is really....interesting.

Bienemy seems like an NFL guy. He just needs to get the opportunity.

Spring ball starts soon. CU might have to hire from within. Their DC has HC experience if I recall, though not a lot.

what's going on with the ND CB's search? Is Mickens going to take it?

Got it. Seemed like an odd way to start the conversation with not knowing the the available options.

John Lilly will be the TE coach at UNC. Mack Brown has put together an impressive staff down there! Great staff, great frosh QB and some solid recruiting. I will definitely be keeping my eye on them over the next couple of years to see what they do. They seem to be on the right track that’s for sure.

Interesting move. When his name came up for the ND job I was super excited and then heard he wanted to stay an NFL tight end coach which made sense at the time. Now he’s at UNC? They’re on the up and up but that’s still bizarre that the ND spot didn’t go anywhere. He was probably the best recruiting tight ends coach in college football before he left for the pros a few years back.

Mel Tucker leaving after one year and one recruiting class? Taking all his assistants if he wants? All those the staff recruited with promises and assurances to players and families that he would not leave - in addition to the current players and admin. On the radio three times affirming his commitment to CU.
On Tucker's Twitter after turning down MSU's initial interest:
While I am flattered to be considered for the HC job @MSU_football, I am committed to @CUBuffsFootball for #TheBuild of our program, its great athletes, coaches & supporters. #UnfinishedBusiness #GoBuffs

We are #Relentless #Culture #TheBuild

Pretty disgusting. Michigan State just made him the fourth highest paid HC in the B10 and more than Dantonio's annual salary.

Dantonio leaving in February weeks after receiving a $4.3 million retention bonus? At least MSU players could reflect on their time playing under him and what he meant to them. Their 2020 class never knew him though and did not commit to a Mel Tucker-led program.

I have mixed feelings about the recent B10 proposal that players can leave once without any impact on their eligibility. MSU players who signed their LOI could leave, but so could those signed to CU.

Rumor is that Vince Marrow will be making ~$1M per year as a result of the recent bidding war between UK and MSU. The guy is lights out on the recruiting trail, but you would have the TE coach / recruiting coordinator making ~15% more than the OC and 60% more than the DC at UK. Obviously they will not stand by and will demand raises too. The Mel Tucker hire at MSU is turning out to either be at best, really expensive for UK or potentially disastrous with personnel changes.

That's a unique situation though. Marrow and Stoops are boys from Youngstown. They went to HS together (Pelini too). Marrow has basically built UK's roster with his recruiting in Ohio. He deserves more than the OC/DC.

I believe we'll get to the day when the Recruiting Director can be paid more than the OC/DC without any ramifications.

Yea spot on. The difference here is Marrow might do more for UK’s recruiting classes than almost any recruiting coordinator in the power 5. He recruits pretty much everybody from Ohio and Michigan along with pretty much all their top guys. Everybody who’s anyone on that roster speaks about Marrow when interviewed. He’s super valuable.

Oh I agree with both you and Crusader.

I believe UK has signed more higher level Ohio kids (4*'s+) than everyone outside of OSU. To UK, he is worth every penny.

As good as Holtz was as a coach and motivator, Vinny is the one that delivered the players like no other. Vince is Stoops' Vinny.

Well, he did learn from Jim Tressel. Nothing here shocks me. That group likes to play up an image that they cannot live up to.

Is Chip Long still unemployed? I haven’t seen his name mentioned for any openings.

Lawyer: Mr. Dantonia, can you explain how Mr. Blackwell ended up in that picture if he wasn't allowed to recruit off campus?

Dantonia: Photoshop?

Funny you should say that, in the Tweet above a lot of Michigan State fans are saying "Looks like Blackwell was 'Shopped in," like Mrs. Hayes has time or a reason to do that. A lot of Michigan State fans are also saying "Big deal, this is just a minor infraction, right?" Only problem is Dantonio is now lying under oath, and the cover up is most certainly worse than the crime itself.
