Has Clark been mentioned yet for the Florida job? The guy can coach is butt off.. But he's probably not exciting enough of a hire for them would be my guess

I think what Lea has been doing at Vandy is more impressive than what Napier did at Louisianna.

Easily, but Napier wasn't Florida's first choice. Many wanted Kiffin, as I mentioned in a different thread that was a non-starter for Lane for reasons that no longe apply. Napier just ended up being the guy by process of elimination and he really sold them on his culture of accountability and his dedication to preparation. Has not really panned out on either front.

I think Lea going to Florida or somewhere else bigger than Vandy is still a couple of years away. I've been impressed what he has done for Vandy football, it would be really exciting if he could get Vandy closer to the top of the SEC. He always knew how to make adjustments at ND and for the past couple of years his teams have bought in.

Vandy got them deep pockets (top 20 endowment), and if they decide to play big boy football, they could become a player.

Vandy Pimp ain't a joke brother.

Gotta think if anything happened to Marcus to the NFL, he's the only guy on the list to take over right?

For sure he’s at the top, but it’ll be interesting to track Elko over the next 2-3 years. Or what trajectory Thom Rees stays on. It’ll also be interesting to see where Brian Mason’s career goes. Not unheard of for ST coordinators to end up in head coaching roles.

Of guys with obvious ND ties.

Are you serious, Clark?
I think you're all fucked in the head. We're two months from the fuckin' playoffs and you want to bail out! Well, I'll tell you something: This is no longer a game. It's a quest. It's a quest for fun! I'm gonna have fun, and you're gonna have fun. We're all gonna have so much fuckin' fun we'll need plastic surgery to remove our goddamn smiles! You'll be whistling 'Zip-A-Dee Doo-Dah' out of your assholes! Hahaha. I gotta be crazy, I'm on a pilgrimage to see a pylon! Praise Perry the Pylon! Holy shit!

I'm not a big Rees guy, but I'm not going to judge somebody on half a season trying to get the Cleveland Browns to move the football.
New QB now who is limited, fresh out of college. No WRs to throw to. It's like Rees is already back at Notre Dame!

I think Tommy does a very good job working with deficiencies on the roster and minimizing weaknesses. I'd like to see Cleveland get some real WRs and see what he can do. He did some good stuff at Alabama after a slow start in '23, upsetting Georgia and a decent LSU team before losing to Michigan by a score. I'm still convinced the Alabama Center was paid off to botch all those snaps to cost them the game  Fuck Michigan.

Elko and Lea are much different personalities and coaches. Personally Lea’s personality fit the university better.

Tommy Rees was vilified both as a player AND a coach during his time at Notre Dame.

The idea of him coming back one day as head coach gives me vibes I'd rather not think about during these happy times we're in under Freeman.

Deja vu times three.
True
But remember - Reesus rose on the 3rd day to save us all

Elko has some BK grumpiness to him. Lea is a relationship guy. Honestly, Lea is one of the better position coaches we’ve had, largely because of that. Made Tranquil and Coney legit stars, turned Bilal around, molded Drew White, and his crown jewel was Wu the Butkus winner

I remember when Koonja tried to convince the board that his tiny 5’6 frame could beat Bilal in an Oklahoma drill.

I thought he was always just a contrarian for the sake of stirring shit up, but that one had me thinking maybe he was just delusional

Asmar Bilal had quite the physique, does not shock me that Mr. “Ja” would like to be up close and personal
