Geoff Collins has consistently been the worst coach in ACC. His team never showed any improvements year after year. He won 10 games in 3 & 1/3 seasons. I'm surprised he was not fired after last season.

I think GT didn't want to be 23rd in line for a head coach last offseason.

Supposedly he had assurances that he’d be granted more time due to the transition from the triple option. I suspect that came with some signs that they were getting better and that didn’t happen. Losing Gibbs to Bama couldn’t have helped. Imagine trying to build a program and you finally see a flicker of hope w/ your athletic QB & stud RB before Saban swoops in & poaches the RB. Not saying that would’ve prevented his firing but I can’t imagine the frustration. Oh well, millions of dollars should soothe that frustration.

I would think that GT would have to give him a look, but sooner or later someone has to pluck Chadwell out of Coastal Carolina. He's off to a 3-0 start again and this is the last year McCall the QB is going to be there. It's as good of a time as any for him to jump and get a P5 gig. Othwerwise he's rebuilding his own rebuild.
