The OL had a couple of starters missing due to injury. Be that as it may... The play calling was absolutely horrendous and has been for most of the year. All the Parker crybabies haven't a clue. The Bears played the Packers in Week 1 and the final game. Yesterday's game plan was copy and paste from Week 1. Abysmal.

On a side note from that, Fields has taken multiple unnecessary roughness hits this year and the referees don't protect him. I don't know why this is, but you'd think someone in the organization would fall on their sword and say something publicly while taking the fine to protect their player. For all the talk the League makes about player safety and some of the very weak calls other QB1 get, I find it rather confusing that opponents are allowed to batter Fields without penalty and or fine. I think by the end of the year, opposing defenses knew it.

I have a very hard time wrapping my head around Luke Getsy having access to the first and ninth picks in this draft, which could be Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze. His WR route designs are horrible. He also had a slot receiver blocking Rashan Gary yesterday, at one point. It's negligent.

Getsy can go for sure...no argument from me there.

I'm just really not sure the QB draft class has anyone that gives the Bears a better chance of winning now (2024 and 2025) than Fields. So what is the goal? If the goal is win now, then I think you have to bring Fields back. You trade down again and continue to collect draft capital and assets.

If resetting the QB clock and "window" if preferred, then blow the whole thing up from the QB to coaching staff. Marry everyone together (GM/CS/QB) and have no excuses.

I'm not sure I'm sold on giving up on Fields. This organzation let him down big time. His OL has been trash and was last night. WR's were running and not even open. If you stick with fields and draft Harrison and even go get another WR with pick 9 it will make a world of difference. Then draft a center in the 3rd round.

Ten straight losses to Green Bay. Embarrassing.

Jordan Love was hitting receivers downfield who were WIIIIIIIIIIIIDE open. Hats off to him, but the Bears defense made it incredibly easier than it had to be. The Packers never punted.

Alt and Odunze... those are the picks I want.
They won't use the first overall pick on Alt, and he won't be there at 9. You would assume that someone is going to put something together to get the first overall pick because they want Caleb Williams. Trading down for an even bigger haul than what the Carolina Panthers gave them is going to be an option most likely (the GM who made that deal just got fired FWIW).

All yesterday showed was how much more of the hill they have to climb. There is so much more work to be done.

Fields can develop into a reliable mediocre QB. However in his 4 years as QB, I have never seen a single game which led me to believe that he could win a game from the pocket. The biggest indictment to me is that when Fields gets the ball in the 4th quarter with a chance to win, not a single player or fan actually believes that he will pull it off.

Getsy... GONE.

Eberflus... gotta be gone. He won some games against crappy opposition at the end of the season, but that cant be the criteria. He also lost 14 in a row at one point. He can stay if he wants to be DC.

Luke Getsy's offense managed 9 points (3 field goals) against one of the most maligned defensive coordinators in the League.

Regardless of whoever the GM, head coach and QB are going to be I don't see a great deal of justification in keeping him.
7 passes in the 4th quarter, 0 in the 3rd. A ridiculous WR screen attempt on 3rd and 22, would have thought John Schoop was in the box. The offensive line looked like a turnstile. QB1 had zero chance yesterday and still did ok with what he had. Give me a LT, Maserati Marv, a center, any safety but Eddie Jackson, another DE.

Look at the supporting cast he had. Everyone was traded away for him last year, literally was a minor league team, and this year, he has 1 WR, a TE, a patchwork OL, and a brain dead OC. How can anyone succeed with what he has had to work with?

Flus decided to go soft zone because he didn't trust Stephenson in man. Shows why you need to resign 33. 29 will be a good asset to the secondary but I don't think he is the lockdown corner

A, they were tanking.

B, that's not happening. He's either HC or he's gone. The way the defense got gashed up yesterday with so much at stake regarding people's futures, dude just has to go.

This is a franchise whose premier QB is still Sid Luckman, even after all these decades and an era of football that is tailored to favor offense and scoring. It's utterly ridiculous that they haven't even been able to get lucky with one. Jordan Love just had a season, his first as a starter, that no Bears QB has ever had or even come close to. The best season a Bears QB has probably ever had in my lifetime was Erik Kramer in 1995? I honestly don't know. They went 9-7. He threw for 3800+ yards and 28 TD. Love threw for over 4000 yards and had over 30 TD. No Bear QB has reached either of those marks. Ever.

Justin Fields could probably go to Atlanta with Eric Bienemy and be fine. It's really up to George McCaskey, Kevin Warren and Ryan Poles how they want to go about this now. Stay the course and keep building with new coaches, or dump everyone and go for Caleb or Drake. They've never gone big on a head coach and I doubt they ever will so long as this ownership is in place. Virginia McCaskey turned 101 years of age last week.

Regardless of what they do with Fields, I think the entire staff has to go.

His fucking screen passes all year were vintage John Schoop/Kent Baer vibes. Just awful

After the game, receiver DJ Moore was asked about Getsy’s play calling.

“I think it’s fine,” Moore said. “Like I said, it just comes down to us being explosive on the offensive side. We’ve got the players to do it. We’ve got our quarterback to do it. Everything else. Just need to call the plays that put us in position to have explosives down the field or catch-and-runs like we did today. We just got to be an explosive team and not a team that’s just behind the sticks.”
Not exactly an endorsement.

What the Bears should be doing is trading down for a huge haul and investing as many picks as possible in their offense. They should put minimum 2-3 top picks into their OL. They should try to grab one elite WR. You can easily build a team like how the Ravens did but with more skill talent you just need real coaching and leadership.

If one coach is gone then they all must go. You can't possibly fire Getsy and keep Fields because it's the Jay Cutler treatment all over again. So then if you fire Getsy and trade Fields are you going to let Eberflus determine the next QB? There's nothing to me that supports that idea.

What will probably happen because... Bears... They fire Getsy, trade JF1, and keep Eberflus.

100% this. Been saying this for months. Jimbo Covert was the last franchise LT. He was drafted in 1983, I was 2. We have never had more than 1 WR who can be reliable to get the ball. How about building a WR Corps too. We have always been good defense, and run the football. Those days of football are gone. Have to spread the ball around.

That was definitely a penalty, I was shocked they didn't throw a flag on that.

If I'm Chicago I think Fields has shown enough, particularly in Nov/Dec to try to re-up that contract and try to invest in some talent around him. OL is a glaring need, so is WR. But if you have a top 10 WR in DJ Moore publicly supporting your QB, that's a bonus. It's so hard to hit on a franchise QB, particularly as a rookie. CJ Strouds don't grow on trees.

7-10 after a 0-4 start is no small feat and I think it would be a major mistake to draft a QB at #1 as opposed to trading back, which is exaclty what I think they'll do.

I am inclined to agree, mostly because the bounty they received from Carolina is now the bar, and my assumption is that will be equaled or surpassed by someone trying to get Williams (or maybe Maye). I think Poles is doing good things and on the right path, but they need better coaches. Hands down.

Also, the Justin Fields' postgame presser was depressing. Almost like he already knew the Bears are going in a different direction.

Nobody who follows the team, from the media beat to the fans to the players themselves was shocked. It's been happening all year.

Public executions would have taken place if some of these hits were made on Tom Brady.

I believe the Bears would receive 2 3rd round compensatory picks if Ian Cunningham was hired as GM by another team.
He talked to the Titans last year and turned down the Cardinals. Seems like it will be a matter of time.

I would be tempted to draft Marvin Harrison with number 1 and a linemen/trade 9. Harrison seems like the safest bet in draft and we need another receiver. I'm not sold any quarterback in draft moves the needle and I sure as heck do not want Caleb Williams

I don't even want Harrison, even with the first pick. See if they can trade down and still at least get Odunze. Big fan of his.

Look at Detroit. OLINE. ( how about pick #1 for a starting OLineman AND a high enough pick to get another one? )
BIG BOYS = WINS.

... plus another TE to go with Kmet (gotta be loyal to my ND guy), and one dependable wide.
