What Carter has going for him is that the DT crop in this draft isn't anything special. After him anyone else at DT going in Round 1 is going late as a luxury pick most likely.

You can't take Kancey, Bresee or Mazi Smith 9th overall.

Yikes. Maybe there is a team that wants to trade up. I’m fine with drafting a little later and picking up more spots.

As I have stated previously, I think he is the best player in the draft class currently. However, with everything he has going on right now I'm not sure how you show up for your pro day overweight and unprepared. That is super concerning.

I guess you could make the argument that is likely a result of everything he has going on right now, but his stock definitely just took another hit.

I like the Tonyan signing strictly because I saw one too many articles stating that the bears should draft a TE. Too many holes to fill in the draft

Poles made it sound like Kmet is going to get new paper too. Based on what he was saying in this end of season presser anyway.

It's shaping up nicely on paper for sure. They're doing the right things. Just a matter of these dudes staying healthy and performing.

Brad Biggs was on 670 this morning and he brought up how Jaylon Johnson probably will have to earn his next contract this season. Definitely lines up with the sentiment that the first person getting an extension this off-season is Kmet.

I have seen and read enough now that I would pass on Broderick Jones from UGA at 9th. Paris Johnson is a solid maybe.

Skoronski is a definite. If he has to move inside to guard, so be it.

Shoring up the Tackle position at 9 would make me very optimistic about the offense next year. I still think that defense is a few years away.

Yeah I'll be very interested each week on the Panthers win loss outcome. I'm hoping they draft the QB from Florida and just tank all year

I’m not sure it matters who they draft at QB, they’re going to be so bad.

I’d put the chances of the Bears having next year’s #1 pick at almost 50%.

Panthers had actually a pretty solid O line and have good pieces on defense. Especially in their weak division, it's not out of the realm of possibility that they are in the teens, and if their rookie QB hits they could maybe even sneak into the playoffs. The favorite of the NFC South probably has to be the Saints, but they don't look too threatening imo.

Late March 2023, we can assume that Caleb Williams is going to be the guy in the NFL 2024 Draft, in which case whoever has the first overall pick is going to be able to absolutely run riot on trading out of that spot and hauling in far more than what the Bears just got from Carolina. So if Carolina gets the first pick and the Bears have it again, as long as they still like Fields as their guy they can trade out and go big again. It's an exciting prospect for sure, but just daydreaming at the moment. It's a long way off.

Time will tell, but I still maintain that having the first overall in 2024 would yield a far better bounty unless Caleb Williams absolutely tanks in 2023 and or gets injured.

(You can all make a wish tonight at 11:11)
