Every room on the defense is better this year. The OL is better. If they stay healthy and have a little luck, we could see real games come December.

It'd be hard for them to get much worse than last year...

I'm a bit surprised by the signing as Ngakoue doesn't play the run and everyone has been saying for a while that's a no go for Flus. But it's a great fit as the Bears absolutely needed pass rush as last year's sack leader was the rookie safety...

Well, yeah, they were basically tanking. They did it the right way. The young future players were getting experience. They were competing but not winning games with replacement level players. It's exactly how you do it.

And Lovie got them a huge assist in the end.

Intrigued to hear about the battle between Tyrique Stevenson and Terell Smith for the 2nd CB spot. Would be nice to have another Day 3 pick pan out.

That man will never pay for a drink in Chicago again

I still laugh at the fact that Lovie was fired after a 10-6 season
It was correct to move on from Lovie.

It was woefully stupid to replace him with a CFL coach who hadn't coached in the league in nearly a decade.

Especially because it sounded like we could have had Arians if we wanted him...

Might get the #1 pick again on our own. Terrible.... Just really terrible. I'm not quitting on fields. I maybe wrong but I refuse to believe he's the problem

Their OL sucks and the defense can't tackle. They have two first round picks in what should be a good QB Draft.

I'm not really sure about the coaching staff at all. They're deliberately not letting Justin Fields do anything he's good at. It's Pace/Nagy/Trubisky all over again.

I have no idea if Fields is any good but I'm beginning to believe that if he is he won't be with the Bears. He's going to have it all fall on his shoulders in the end because the previous regime drafted him.

Honestly at this point any high profile QB should pull an Elway/Eli and just flat out refuse to play for the Bears. It’s the biggest QB graveyard in the NFL.

Fellow QB graveyards like NYJ, OAK, CLE aren’t even close to this level of salting the earth with their QBs. It’s absolutely sickening.

I'm one to usually rag on the OL and offensive play calling and make no mistake, it was still awful again.

That said, this game, more so than the Packers game, was more on Fields. He flat out did not play well at all. And unlike last week, there were more than a few instances where Fields had legitimate opportunities that he himself turned into sacks because he won't see the field.

I just don't understand why they go away from what is working. They're getting the ball downfield and getting it to Moore, Mooney and Kmet. Why are they then reverting to the screen game that doesn't work because their receivers suck ass at blocking the perimeter?

Fields did his team very few favors today, but like I've said before, nothing is going to change until the line shores up considerably and the play calling changes. You combine a young QB and a play caller who's never called plays prior to getting to Chicago and you expect a good result? Poles' first staff is looking like a massive dud.

And another week of the Bears defense making a mediocre QB look like a Pro-Bowler. It's astonishing how bad they are. And frankly, Jackson and Brisker could've played and I don't think it changes anything.

I'm prolly very wrong, but he needs to be better developed. We need a legit offensive mind in there to help this kid before he's ruined.

With hopefully 2 picks in the top 5 this year, I think it's time to pull the plug on Fields.
They're just going to draft Drake Maye and ruin him as well. The Trubisky comps will be inevitable.

They need everything. QB, OL, WR, Edge. It's insanity.

Either way the Bears are in development land with a young QB. One of those picks next year has to be an OL. I sure wouldn't mind if it was Alt.

I remember hearing that after crushing the interview, Arians called his wife and said “pack our stuff, we are moving to Chicago.”

He thought it was in the bag, was very pissed to see Trestman was the hired, and wanted
to humiliate the Bears whenever he faced them afterwards.

Year 3 always seems to be the make or break year for an NFL QB, they either have it figured out by then, or never will. It’s rare for someone to not “get it” by then, who does later.

Why?

Either Fields plays his way into a franchise QB role, or he fails to improve and the Bears are on track for the #1 pick.

Unless the Bears think Bagent is Brock Purdy 2.0, there's no reason to pull Fields. Either he sinks or swims.
