Tyree Wilson probably has a higher ceiling than Will Anderson. Drafting off potential/ceiling probably isn’t a good idea in the top 10. 6’6”, 270 pound edge rushers don’t grow on trees. He’d be a great pick at 9.
That's probably about it.

Apart from those two guys, I don't see anyone else worth the 9th overall pick.

You're so bad just about everywhere, you really can't go wrong in terms of needs.

I don't know enough about the other guys at Edge other than Will Anderson to know if they merit taking at #9. I'd go with my top guy at OL at #9 and if they're gone then trade back again and get more picks.

The Bears have a million options because, like you said, they stink. They could go OL, Edge, one of the big 3 CBs, Jalen Carter might slip to 9, etc.

I don’t think taking the top receiver is a bad idea either. Give Fields a trio of receivers to throw to.

I think Jalen Carter is going to be there at 9. I think Skoronski probably will not be. The Raiders pick 7th and who the hell knows what they're going to do. It could throw everything off.

Quentin Johnson from TCU at WR is enticing.

It's a 30 minute shot down 94 from Halas Hall to NU.

Probably a lot of intent on looking at Skoronski.
Considering 94 from the state line to the Kennedy is a glorified drag race... probably spend more time going from 94 to Evanston than you do driving down 94 :ROFLMAO:

On one hand, I have a hard time thinking the bears would draft Carter, especially with McCaskey's reluctance toward players with alleged character issues. On the other hand, they tolerated Lance Briggs throughout the years.

Uh, Tank Johnson? He had a thug living in his basement. Then again, who doesn't?

Throw in Cutler and Urlacher too.

Multiple arrests last offseason as well. Could have them cautious.

I forgot who it was but didn't Pace have to convince the McCaskeys in order to sign a DL that had off-field issues?

Edit: Referring to Ray McDonald singing in 2015. I thought that guy actually played but he was signed and cut within 3 months.

Yup because he had another "incident" after being signed and the McCaskeys allowing Pace to give McDonald another chance.

The extent to which teams are willing to tolerate foolishness is largely determined by the incentives offered. Carter offers them quite a bit.

Fun to watch. Active in FA and moving around the board. Will be interesting to see if they can leverage that ninth pick if one of those QBs fall and they can get more. It’s interesting when a team is acquiring talent and they have the QB of the future on the roster.

If Carter is there, the #9 pick is easy. Carter is the best player in the draft currently and fills a need. Otherwise, I agree go with the best OL on your board. If that is the kid from Northwestern, so be it. He may be safe, boring, or a guard instead of a tackle, but barring injury he seems like someone that will be useful to the Bears for years to come in one capacity or another.

obviously would need some resolution on legal but yes if carter is there you snag him if not i think you grab your top rated OL

Nice deal for Monty but I feel like the bears shouldn't have an issue matching that? Creates another hole
Probably indication that they feel really good about Khalil Herbert in an increased role.

Monty at 6 per year is pretty reasonable, but it may just be a situation where they preferred getting Herbert more reps and filling the #2 spot via a mid-late draft pick.

Already signed Travis Homer. This team isn't good enough/has too many holes to be eating cap space with RB $.

Thanks for your effort David, good luck in Detroit.

I don't know if I take Carter at the 9th pick, if I'm the bears I'm either taking Paris Johnson or Broderick Jones. Is it a risk taking Carter?

No. Bears have way more needs at positions with higher shelf lives.

Bijan looks like a stud in the making, but RB is just not a premium position, especially for a top 10 pick. Those rarely yield long-term results for the team picking the back.
100%.

$11M guaranteed for an free agent RB is a hard pass, and no RB is going top 10 this year in the draft.

If they do their HW on Carter I can see them still taking him at 9. Obviously what he did wasn't good, but it would be possible the guy they were taking at #1 if they had to pick would fall to them at 9.

UGA Pro Day is today I believe.

Reports are the Bears front office and the UGA coaching staff have been having multiple conversations over the last few weeks. Someone is going to draft him one way or another.
