DJ Moore is 25 (and is under contract through 2025)
Mooney is 25
Claypool is 24
N'Keal Harry is 25
Kmet is 24

That's how you build a receiving core. I think this is a slam dunk of a trade.

Unfortunately Claypool and Harry stink. But Moore, Mooney, and Kmet is a very solid core.

Like this haul a lot. Essentially downgraded the second 1st round pick in '25 for a 2nd and Moore.

I am curious what the Houston Texans would have offered. And then they could have potentially dealt that second pick for more.

I love it on paper. Text my Brother-In-Law that this is a sneaky good skill group.

But, if Fields isn't ready next year or maybe 2, then the WR core is likely a moot point. Depending on the assigned value of Moore, I might've preferred to get another draft pick.
I mean you have to go into this with the assumption JF1 is the guy. Our Irish this year proved how little everything else matters without a QB

Yeah the most I was seeing before today was 1st round picks in both 24 and 25 with a 2nd this year. 25 being downgraded to a 2nd for DJ Moore? I’ll take that any day of the week. Shoot this allows so much more flexibility because now there’s no pressure to reach on a receiver at 9. Build the trenches there and pray the 24 pick from Carolina lets you get Marvin Harrison Jr.

It looks like the league called the Bears bluff. Didn't they say they had an offer of three 1st rounders and two 2nd rounders?

I think they really wanted the Colts to bite. They may just stay at 4 and draft who's left of the big 4. They may even get to pick between a couple.

Seems like a pretty good package. Moore is note elite but pretty good, young, and affordable. I wonder what they'll do with the 9th pick now.

I don't think there was ever an offer that big unless it came from a team in the back half of the draft.

That said the Colts need to be careful of the Cardinals. The Cardinals are absolutely taking calls for the #3 pick now from the Falcons or Raiders.

I think Moore is better than just "pretty good". I think he's on the fringe of the elite receivers.

Considering the dude put up very respectable numbers despite getting the ball thrown from the absolute worst QBs in the league.

Love this.... Secure the multiple picks and draft best available at nine. Solid 4-5 year window to win now in a wide open division.

Set fields up to succeed this year and if he doesn't, use the extra draft capital to move up to get a QB next year, which will then be put in a position where they can succeed.

Only thing I don't like is they're down to #9. I was praying that they got will anderson....think he'll be a good one. Unfortunately I don't think he'll be around then

Seems like a really good move by their office.

How many OL do they have that are quality starters? If you guys ranked needs for the Bears, what would it look like?

I'd love to see them slide back one more time for a 1st/2nd or 1st/3rd but it's highly unlikely until draft day.

The Bears have an incredible opportunity.

Should have the entire OL board to choose from at 9. Unless there’s someone that goes earlier than expected.

There is a decent chance Jalen Carter is still on the board considering most likely 4 QB's and 2 DE's are taken ahead of #9.
If one of the QB's is still there, maybe they trade back again.

That 2024 Panthers pick will hopefully be a high one which also give Poles protection should Fields not take a step forward. On paper, this is a good a WR corp at the Bears have had in a fair amount of time.

With the picks and FA cash, the Bears have a window to lay claim to the NFC North that seems in flux.

Well if they draft him... hopefully they give him a complimentary Uber pass

They have to address OL by free agency and the draft. I've read a lot of smoke that they're going to make McGlinchey an offer.

That’s what I saw too. He fits the offensive system but certainly hasn’t been great at pass pro the past couple years.

My guess is that whoever is the best OL/DL available at 9, they're gonna take.

Ideally, I'd take Skoronski for 1 guard spot at 9. I think he's going to be an absolute monster.

Meanwhile, I'd keep Tevin Jenkins at guard. Either he stays healthy and is a quality guard, or he doesn't. But I don't think you need to waste draft capital on another guard.

I'd focus on replacing Mustipher at center, because he simply isn't good. Ideally, that's where I'd like to see the Bears take Jarrett Patterson.

A line of Jones, Jenkins, Patterson, Skoronski and McGlinchey. Yeah, that'll work.

This deal is f'n great for the bears. You essentially got 3 first rounders when you take into account DJ Moore.

Right now at 25, DJ Moore's career stats, would have him 1st in Bears History in Yards, 3rd in receptions all time behind Walter and Forte, so he'd be the all time leader in Receptions for a WR, tied for 13th in TDs.

I'd say having 4 picks in the top 64 this year is nothing to shake a stick at. The Moore numbers are impressive. Lot of talk that Poles wants to resign Montgomery as well. Now go out and Sign Orlando Brown.

I think history is in favor of this being a great trade. I think the last few trades for the #1 to take a QB have worked for the team trading out of the pick.

Rams trading up to get Goff which turned into Derrick Henry and some serviceable WRs and a DT that still contributes.

The Vick trade worked for the Falcons (sort of) but the Chargers ended up with LaDanian Tomlinson at #6ish and other players.

Colts traded up in 1990 to get Jeff George but the Falcons ended up with Andre Rison.

Really hoping Justin Fields develops quickly as a thrower.

Solid chance that the 2024 first round pick from Carolina will be the #1 pick for Chicago. Carolina traded their only two offensive weapons that are worth a damn. Stroud, or whoever their rookie QB is, will probably be seeing ghosts most of their rookie year.

Chicago could trade back again, accumulate more multiple first round picks, and take Marvin Harrison Jr.
