-That was clearly DPI at the end, but I will not tolerate ND whining about it. You can't play that way all game and then bitch about the flag. Fuck your flag.
-That said, this was the worst team performance in a long time. aTm was worse defensively, but better offensively. Simply inexcusable from Freeeman. Maybe the worst coaching job he's done since NIU. The buck stops with him so this is on him.
-I'm OUT, with a capital O-U-T on Denbrock. Three times in the second half we had potentially game altering plays made by the ST and defense. A quick change, BYU is on their heels. What does he do. Three straight times he runs NJJ into a loaded box and suffocates the momentum.
-Ash was a giant fucking asshole the entire first half. Absolutely pitiful performance by his squad. Sure they looked better in the second half but that doesn't in anyway excuse his atrocious job. I think his defense is being propped up by weak opponents. We look like complete dipshits against teams with a pulse.
-It was nice of our coordinators to switch off having strokes between the first and second half so we could make sure we never garnered any momentum and seal the loss.
-The coordinators performance is on Freeman. Freeman hired his buddy Ash after Golden left and it has fucked us in all 3 games that have truly mattered since then. Denbrock is above average but he rarely allows the team to get into a flow and doesn't seem be in tune with the game at all, he has no sense of the moment. Really, we just fucking stopped their laughable fake punt and the first thing you can fucking think to do is run NJJ into a loaded box in the most obvious run fit of all time? Everytime we have a TE off center behind the line we run. Like every single time.
-I know many of you will object by saying "but look at everyone else," but this is NOT a playoff quality team. We thought we took a bunch of steps from BK but in all honesty, we're not a truly elite program. A truly elite program probably stepped on BYU in the first half but even then, they definitely pulled away in the 2H.
-I like Freeman and definitely appreciate all he's done from the program, but I really question his ability to get us over the top. He says the right things about being physical, being violent, being aggressive, etc. But when push comes to shove the last 5 Big Time Games we've played (Sugar Bowl, Orange Bowl, Miami, aTm, and BYU), we've come out more often than not timid, the less physical team, and out of sorts. Sure, we won 2 of them, but the starts were rather BK like. In fact, this entire game was a BK Era script: slow start where we look overwhelmed infusing the opponent with confidence, climb back into it, rally that falls just short.
-Leave no doubt? Yeah, go fuck yourselves.
