It's a hot freaking mess around here. Whitehead"s "enlightened" comments were just the tip of the iceberg. I was listening to the postgame show afterwards, and the one gentleman, Dustin Fox, who Whitehead threatened lost his $hit on air. Can't blame the guy.

I wish there was a way to listen back to it.

I'm sure 92.3 the fan will have replay options. That said, if someone is being threatened with allegedly being "smoked", they may take that down. Who knows.

Wait, we’re not crowning the Browns as Super Bowl champs like we were all summer? They actually had to play football games?

Someone please look up and post Jermaine Whitehead’s twitter after the game. It’s an all timer. Mind you this clown missed
Every tackle today

Clay Travis was talking about it this morning. In responding to getting shot, the fan replied, "You'd probably miss." lol

I thought Baker was going to be the answer... he's got three or four great pass-catchers, a good RB next to him, and an ego that I thought was so over-the-top that it would prevent him from regressing.

Boy was I wrong.

The good news is that the Browns get to play the Bengals twice during the last month of the season, so regardless of how things go, they'll at least be heading into the offseason with a couple of positive results to build on.

Baker's got all the maturity of a 13-year-old girl. I'd hoped someone could get through to him and help him grow up, but... Sorta want to look at him and say, "Son, if you spent as much time working at your job as you do running your mouth and self-promoting, you might not have a QBR of 40. You got nearly twice as many INT's as TD's. Might be a good idea for you to shut the fuck up and stop running your mouth until you can back it up." He's not much better than the Brown's last Heisman draft pick... and for a lot of the same maturity issues.

I may have been wrong about Mayfield. Call it battered wife syndrome, but Mayfield's red flags in college felt like he was going to be Manziel version 2. I haven't been behind Cleveland's QB picks since probably Quinn or maybe Colt McCoy (I thought Kizer was a bad move/bad fit/bad timing). I mean, who drafts Brandon Weeden AND Johnny Manziel?!

Mayfield has adjusted well to the NFL in his first year, and the team really seems to have jumped on his back. They still need some pieces, but they ended the season in an impressive way. Here's hoping he doesn't end up having a Sophomore slump and they continue to build a respectable team going into next year. It's a shame they got so close to hitting the playoff.

I don't know. Beckham is still young, but the Browns gave up and awful lot for him. Hopefully he and Mayfield develop some chemistry. I'm cautiously optimistic, I just hope they didn't overpay. Used to seeing the Browns bring in veterans that are starting to crumble. His last few seasons haven't been great statistically, although injuries caused him to miss most of 2017.

Well fuck me.

Do you guys still think you won the Odell trade? Serious question. Keep in mind the salary cap implications.

I was excited that day because it looked like we were also signing Earl Thomas... once that feel through I didn't really like either trade with the Giants. If I'm honest it was the Vernon trade that really sits poorly now.

Well fuck me.

I mean, we all saw what he can do last year... this whole situation is on Freddie and honestly Dorsey for hiring the clown. Get an actual coach in there and watch the whole team turnaround next year.

I don't really understand this narrative. What has he done that's immature? He told a reporter off who is a huge douce and has been baiting him since before he was even drafted.

Is he supposed to not film ads in the offseason? Come on.

Yes. Zeitler was making crazy money too for a guard.

The problem is not OBJ.

No one said he can't do endorsements, but why not wait until you have got a good handle on your position? If he's going to be good, the endorsements will still be there. I know when both Manning and Luck came to the Colts, they initially begged off on the endorsements to focus on the position.

What has he done that's immature?
Besides arguing with the reporter, a couple that come to mind.....He publicly bitched about Hugh Jackson going to the Bengals and slammed the Giants and Daniel Jones. The list of things done in college is even longer. Sure he can have an opinion, but there are times when the best thing is not to share them with a reporter or SM. Give him enough time in the NFL and he'll add to the list.

IMO which doesn't count for much, it just seems that if he wants to prove all of his doubters wrong (which has been his mantra since HS) he would really dive into the QB position early on to improve himself. The room for error is almost non-existent in the NFL. His stats so far bare this out.

Because filming ads has nothing to do with his ability to play QB. Unless you're one of the people that think he should be focused on football 24/7 365. In that case why does he ever play video games? Go out to dinner with his wife? Go to any family gatherings? It's all irrelevant.

Hue Jackson was a horrible coach that continually threw players under the bus. He gets fired and goes right back to a divisional rival after a 3 week media tour of trash talking the Browns. So yeah saying it didn't sit well seems like a very moderate response.

The Daniel Jones thing was total bullshit. The author of the article even admitted that the quote was taken out of context. Baker was making a broader point about how he was surprised Jones was taken as high as he was AND that Baker himself was taken #1.

agreed on every front... but it's pointless really. I've come to the conclusion Baker could part the red sea and save the chosen people but too many are being fed Colin Cowherd hot take bullshit designed to fit BM in as the new 'badguy' for anything to matter.

If you are dissatisfied with Mayfield and the Browns, try walking a mile in my shoes. I've been a Lions fan since the early 1960s. I just missed the good Lions teams of the mid-1950s, and I've been waiting nearly 60 years for them to put a good team back on the field.

Let Baker be Baker and be glad you're not a Lions fan.

Dude, while the Lions haven't been super, they've at least been to the playoffs 3 times in the last 8 years. The Browns haven't been to the playoffs once in the last 17 seasons! Before that 2002 appearance? It was 1994. You're preaching to the choir. I will give them credit for having a Browns-like winless season in 2008 though.

We feel each other's pain, but on the flip the Browns have the late 80s. The Lions aren't even a 'cool' loser the way the Browns have become. Honestly the Browns may be THE loser team in America, meaning our country's most talked about and loved, rooted for etc.. I've honestly thought numerous times over the past few years, "At least I'm not a Lions fan, they go through the same shit and no one even cares."

They may have lost every opening round, but the Lions made a lot of consecutive playoff appearances in the 90s. It was a fairly exciting time when Barry Sanders was carrying the ball for Detroit. That's at least more recent than the Brown's last successful era, as weak as it is. I get it, though. Cleveland has always been cooler than Detroit. You get out of car downtown and that smell hits you...then you immediately get back in your car and drive back to Ohio.

Kind of like the Sox vs Cubs before either won a title... the White Sox went nearly as long without a title and all anyone talked about were the lovable losers from Wrigley... there was a cool factor (or whatever you want to call it) to the Cubs that the Sox just didn't have for whatever reason. That's the Browns and Lions now in many regards.

I personally don't care what Mayfield does on his off time. I actually like the commercial where he's flipping circuit breakers at the stadium. Pretty creative. You stated
I don't really understand this narrative. What has he done that's immature?
and I just pointed out some incidents.

Jackson may have been a jackass, but him going to the Bengals is a big "so what?" IMO why not just tell the reporter you wish Jackson the best and move on? If Pagano had went to the Jags or Texans after the Colts I could have cared less. A bad coach is a bad coach.

Skip going out to dinner, family gatherings or playing video games? Stop.

My point and you already know it, is that perception like it or not drives a lot of things. The perception is that his play might be better if he limited the outside nonsense and spent more time (not all of his time) focusing on FB.

I'd like to see the Browns have some success. You guys have suffered long enough.

Come on man, there's more to it than that. Ever since he burst into the national spotlight at OU, he's been obnoxious and immature. People outside your fanbase hate you if you're too brash and obnoxious... especially when you then fail to back it up. He got away with it at OU because of his success, but was generally despised outside that fanbase for being an immature, annoying ass. Now, in the NFL, he's got 12 INT's to 7 TD's and a QBR that's embarrassingly low. Right now he seems way more interested in himself than his team. He'd be a lot better served by shutting his mouth and avoiding some of the spotlight and self-promotion, and focusing on getting better as a player.

Respectfully, you’re proving my point... he’s trying to do all that, he’s not actively doing talk shows and late night. His commercials were shot before the season and he’s taking ownership of the failings even though many of them aren’t on him. But let’s bring all that up to prove some BS narrative. I try really fucking hard to not discuss bama football and all the complete and utter filth that follows it with you out of respect,... I suggest you do the same.

Maybe I'm judging him too harshly based on his past. If he's trying to fix that perception, good for him. Enjoy him as your QB and I hope it all works out for him and your team.
