Not sure. We aren't known for our BBQ.
Hell hath no fury as a woman scorned. Regardless of whether you like him or not, he did a phenomenal job his first year at LSU. The outside observer or spectator simply doesn't realize just how bare the cupboard was left by Orgeron, the oaf.
You can cherry pick certain games all you'd like - i.e., FSU - which turned out to be a 10-win team, A&M, who, at times, played substantially better than their record indicated and is loaded with blue chip talent), and staff - i.e., Polian - who was transitioned to an off-the-field role today. Polian is purportedly a phenomenal recruiter, but BK couldn't afford to keep him in that role - Tiger fans were thirsty for blood after the FSU debacle. Special teams didn't improve.
That said, at the end of the day, most reasonable LSU and SEC fans assumed they'd win 5-7 games. SEC media days predicted us to finish 5th in the West (ahead of only Mississippi State and Auburn). LSU won the West, beating Alabama, Ole Miss, Florida, Auburn, etc. along the way.
In short, it was deemed a very successful season with only 1 or 2 games where we weren't competitive (Tennessee and Georgia), with an emphasis on Tennessee. LSU largely held its own against Georgia, it just had a really bad quarter, and ultimately fizzled out. They kept fighting though, and that's what matters at the end of the day.
