It’s tiring though. Just b/c Twitter choads can’t resist taking a shot at BK doesn’t mean the entire fanbase hates the guy. It continues to feed the LSU narrative & makes the ND fan base look petty.

That what I could never understand about the whole situation. Both sides were petty. BK left just like he came to ND - short shifting his former employer. And we as ND fans should be upset and surprised?

If ND is the world class destination and program - the better response would be: "Bye-bye and Next."

Instead you get this vitriol and hatred from ND fans and ND Analysts. Like BK was their wife that just left them...LMAO

I was always a BK supporter and appreciated how he got the program back to national prominence. The fact of the matter is he left in an immature fashion which I can complain about whether some like it or not. What has really frosted my balls is the fact that he could have done more simply by putting in the effort to recruit like MF. Maybe we have that NC or at least looked competitive in a NCG.

If only BK hadn't flirted with the NFL after the 2013 NCG... he pulls a top 5 class on the momentum from 2012 then goes outside the top 10 for the next 4-5 years. I really believe that flirtation cost him his opportunity to elevate the Irish to the tier 1 level. Whether that could be sustainable is debatable given this current landscape of CFB.

That certainly didn't help.

We went from the highest of highs in December 2012 to a deep dark pit in January.

Who was better after Holtz? It’s been a really long time since Lou.

Another 10 years of people joking on ND could have collapsed the program into apathy.
You do realize many schools have gone longer than ND without doing anything, and then became great again. It’s literally the history of college football. The majority of the pain ND has gone through is self inflicted wounds about sticking to traditions that at one time were innovations. That and the admissions. The only thing I give credit to Kelly is he kept ND in the discussion during his time but his big game record is an absolute joke. Name another supposed elite coach with BK’s record in big games?

IIRC, Weis was the one who finally got a training table at ND.

What are some other off the field triumphs coaches have had in making the program more competitive in the modern world?

I’m genuinely curious who is responsible for what in terms of where the program is from a positive contribution standpoint, not trying to flame any coaches.
