“Marcus Freeman would have beaten Tennessee”

Brings up an interesting point - would Freeman have been in the running to be the LSU head coach (replacing Orgeron) if he had gone down there as DC instead of coming to ND?

I don’t think so. They clearly wanted to make a splash with a big name, and paid a hefty ransom to make it happen.

Amazing what a good QB transfer can do. If only someone else knew that prior to this season.

Hooker transferred to Tennessee the same offseason ND took Coan. If you wanna go back and say we should've taken him instead, fine, but that's just talking with an incredible amount of hindsight being applied.

They also originally started Milton over Hooker

This board would have not been happy at the thought of Hooker being a solution.

I was more implying ND had a chance to get JT Daniels or another veteran QB as an insurance policy for if TB went bust (spoiler alert: he did go bust), but stood pat

Think it's way too early to write him off. He's started 2 games lol. He definitely had a crappy game against Marshall but so did the entire team. He also played well against Ohio State. And if he weren't injured he'd be starting over Pyne 100%.

At this point I’m down with writing him off. Way too early to write him off might have been last year. This year it seems right on time to write him off.

Yes, Buchner is written off for this year. Next year? Seems pretty early. He had one bad game.

If we were running the offense with him that we’ve been running with Pyne, he would be quite effective, but with a bigger arm and better legs.

Pete Sampson is going to dance on Kelly’s grave to the very end
Pete is furiously combing through the filing cabinets in the archives section at GVSU confirming that yes, this is the worst home loss in BK’s career.

Cheers to you Pete.

Purple Brian came out early today.
He was pretty hot when his qb didn't let it rip on third and one into single coverage down the field.
They were stuffed on fourth down immediately after.

IF he survives two season he probably rolls after that.

At least the purple face matches his team colors now.

Honestly, would love to see him get booted and land at Nebraska. He can have the Dollar General aisle all to himself. 8-4 every year. With the odd 10-2 when OSU/PSU aren't on the schedule.
