I think if BK gets a great QB like Watson, Lawrence, Field, Tua or Murray he could win a national championship.

But under BK, QBs seem to regress by their 2nd year. This has been proven multiple times with many different QBs. So it's hard to say if those elite QBs would actually perform well under BK.

So did Lawrence and Tua. Just win with them as freshman.

Is that Darmstahp or Haubstahp?

Thought I'd get in on this thread so we can rename this thread The inaugural Irish Envy Nut Club Fall Festival. Now who's up for a brain sammich? Pass the Ketchup!

Everybody talks about the brain sandwich but nobody ever eats it.

I see you grew up on the West side.

Nope. I grew up in Gary / Michigan City / Valparaiso. P's moved to Gary to work in the mills.

I spent every summer down there until I was was in high school though. Lived there after college in '92-'93. Mostly stayed up north of McCutchanville by what is now the Oak Meadow Country Club. I remember when they were building it, it butted up to my Great Aunt & Uncle's property where we stayed. It had been one of the Johnson & Johnson owner's estate but they sold it to the guy who made Heath Bars and he built the course.

Did stay in Dogtown, Jimtown, with my crazy cousins by at Madison & Evans and out by Metzger Park too. My brother lives in Mt Vernon now and runs the river camps next to the bridge, south of Ellis Park. Talk about some Texas Chainsaw types out there. But fun place to drink too much and get eaten alive by skeeters.

About the only place I didn't stay was way out east in Harrison district.

When my Grandpa retired from the mills they bought a house on Englewood which was exactly in between Memorial and Bosse. My P's died while I was in college and my sister lived there with them and graduated from Bosse.

I was committed to UE for hoops but changed my mind and went to Miami instead.

Really? I graduated from Bosse in 04, what year was your sister?

To be honest, if you guys have a problem with Brian Kelly, try being NY Giants fan with Pat Shurmur as a coach. The Giants are 7-19 with Shurmur as a coach.

'91 I think. She graduated with Andy Elkins.

When I come out next summer maybe all of us could meet up at TJ's Stockyard Inn for an ice cold beverage. If you don't have your tetanus shots up to date... we could hit Gerst Haus and Maidens. lol

What if I am a fan of both and don't like either coach?

Elkins was solid, he was actually the basketball coach and a teacher at Bosse when I was there.

Yeah man, I'd be up for a little Franklin Street action, been while since I've been down there.

You probably wouldn’t recognize Franklin St. A ton of changes.

At least you aren't a redskins fan. They aren't in DC anymore and their owner is not a smart sports team owner.

Snyder is so bad I renounced my fandom a couple years ago. I'm not going to get into the stuff on the name, my position on that has evolved over time... but it's just impossible to support or spend money on the team knowing it benefits that clown. Beyond being incompetent at football, he's a bad person.

I now root for the Chiefs (the team my family in Missouri has always supported and I have a Chiefs Joe Montana Christmas ornament from when I was a little kid) and the Bears (wife is from Chicago and inlaws all root for them).

They could have supported the Rams but Stan Kroenke is also a terrible human and moved the Rams out of STL.

So you jumped from one offensive mascot to another? Disgraceful!
