I saw the presser as well and it was clearly as you described it. Amazing anyone would take it any other way.

Multiple media outlets have taken it the "other way."

And just now, a coworker came into my office asking if I saw what BK said. Believe it or not "objective" fans (aka fans of other teams) don't read everything the way you do.

If you haven't watched the presser then stop commenting. If you have and come to the conclusion these "objective" fans have then you are a blind Kelly hater. It couldn't have been more clear what he meant.

Now that Jack has pretty much cemented that Kelly will be the HC next year...how does everyone see the staff shaking out? Does he keep everyone or make a shake up beyond a new DC? Does Sanford stay?

OK I watched it and I agree with you that is not what he meant.

We need a new DC obviously. I would assume that some of the Defensive coaches would be replaced. On the offense, if Scott Booker has a job then Kelly should be fired.

Part of hiring an ESTABLISHED DC would probably include his choice of some new staff, no?

If we don't see a shake up beyond just DC I will be disappointed. I am prepared to be disappointed because my impression is that BK really thinks we are not that far off.

My prediction is that Chuck martin is the new DC and Safeties coach. Todd Lyght coaches CB's and nothing else changes.

If there are any changes to be made, it will be on the offensive side of the ball. If the allowance of the 10th coach gets approved, I think Booker goes to full time special teams and Quinn coaches TE's.

Exactly. What the ND universe thinks it hears, and what everyone else hears, are two different things.

It like calling your wife a bitch.... and she accepts it because she knows she's a bitch....

But dare let anyone else call her a bitch..... head slap'n commences..

I don't want or think this is how it will go down, but if Kelly is our HC, I'd love to have Chuck Martin back in some capacity. Players love playing for the guy.

Havent we had enough bad luck with BK and his old coaching buddies at ND? I get it that it worked for D2 but I have yet to see where the people he so covets from his past glories work at ND.

Martin has already been at ND and I thought he did a good job with what he was tasked with. He's an all around good coach but most importantly, guys really like playing for him.

The 180 we saw out of Harrison Smith once Kelly's regime got here, was attributed, by Harrison, to Martin's coaching.

Well, we did make it to a National Championship game with these D2 coaches. So it hasn't all been bad.

Id love to see either Elko or Snow, in 2017, then a rejig of the roles.

Head Coach - Brian Kelly
Assistant Head Coach – Mike Denbrock
Offensive Co-Ordinator – Mike Sanford
Defensive co-Ordinator – Phil Snow (Temple)

QB Coach – Mike Sanford
WR Coach – Mike Denbrock
TE Coach – Mike Denbrock
OL Coach – Harry Heistand
RB Coach – Autry Denson

DL Coach – Keith Gilmore
LB Coach – Mike Elston
Safety Coach – Phil Snow (Temple) & Marty Biagi
CB Coach – Todd Lyght

Special Teams Co-Ordinator – Marty Biagi

Recruiting Co-Ordinator – Mike Elston

I think we need a DC/S coach. Snow, Elko, Martin in that order if we were to consider Chuck coming back (which i wouldnt mind at all).

Naturally that would be your interpretation seeing as you're heavily biased against him. That is absolutely not what it meant though. It was meant as he is disappointed that it's happening, not at Jack for doing so. There is no way Kelly would come out and attack the AD in public like that. No way in hell.

Kelly is telling the fans that we let him down.

He's surprised there is criticism when we start 2-5 against a garbage schedule? He is delusional. And he's driving the bus off a cliff.

I can dig that.

That's not what he said at all. Where are you getting that from?

Honest question: Are you a member on Rock's House at NDNation? If not, I suggest getting your year-long wait after signing up done ASAP. I think you'd find that bubble will fit your delusion (see what I did there?) a lot better.

Yes. Average recruiter at best. Special teams have always struggled. For years it was punt return, now kick and punt coverage are subpar. TE production is non existent the past two years.

Stole the post right from my keyboard.

Only Across could so blindly/terribly interpret Kelly's comments in such a way.

So Booker has got to go?

Give Scott Booker a 5-Star TE/WR Hybrid and do-it-himself rocket of a KR (We have a seperate kicking/punting coach right?) and he'll be a mediocre to ok coach.

He is a good recruiter and seems like a good dude, but he should be a WR coach at Purdue or Iowa State, frankly.

Word. I would say an average recruiter.

Also, I just don't like the way he looks for some reason.

IMO our defensive coaches were just as much a victim of a horrific defensive scheme as our players were. Our defense has played well enough to win the last 2 games. The Miami game will be the barometer of where we really sit as defense. My gut feeling is our D plays lights out and makes plays. If not then my gut feeling was just gas.

No, I'm not. Just because posters over there have high standards for the football program (e.g., not losing to Duke and NCSU) doesn't mean we can't have high standards too. They also correctly diagnose the ND football cycle.

We're just prolonging the inevitable. Search your feelings, you know he isn't going to get it done here.
