This is the guy who responded with:

"Uh, maybe Alabama doesn't come back in the second half," Kelly said. "It's all Alabama. We can't tackle them right now and… who knows why. You know, they're big and physical. I guess I do know why. It's just that our guys have not tackled the way they have all year.

when asked about the 1st half.

What a great leader.

Come on man that's absurd. There's a reason every media outlet jumped on the snapper quote. He didn't have to say his name.

It is ridiculous to be disappointed in a snapper in any context whatsoever in that monsoon. A good coach would have said "we obviously had issues snapping the ball today due to the weather." That's it, no need to express disappointment.

It's really not. The false narrative being spun by some people is what's absurd. The reason "every media outlet" jumped on it is because it is easy copy, and a headline bound to get clicks.

I mean I literally watch every presser... I'm probably one of less than 100 total people that does that, given the view count on Youtube. I watch everything in context and there's no way to interpret things how some media/fans are unless you are literally trying to further an agenda. People are snipping half-sentences out of context and then writing full articles about it so that they can then ask the question to the players and write an article about that and then follow that up with an opinion piece on Kelly losing the team. Same concept as when Jaws declared a Kaepernick a "hall of fame QB" years ago and ESPN spent an entire 24-hour news cycle covering 'news' they magicked out of thin air.

To take what he said about snapping and ignore all of his other quotes on snapping is malpractice.

Are you fucking serious right now!?!?!? Holy crap dude.... you have a problem with a halftime filler quote? To a sideline reporter? Are you kidding me?

This is just sad.

Did I miss the clickbait articles about David Shaw or Clay Helton or Charlie Strong throwing their teams under the bus? Just did a Google search and didn't find anything.

The fact is that Brian Kelly gives the media something to roll with. Other coaches in his position, generally speaking, don't.

For the 10000th time:

Last time I checked Sam is the one who snaps the football. Brian is disappointed...in the snapping of the football...which was atrocious.

What was he disappointed in if not for Sam, kmoose?

LOL............ this is the difference between actually watching the pressers and shows, and just regurgitating the dumb half-truths spread on the internet:

<script height="381px" width="672px" src="http://player.ooyala.com/iframe.js#ec=J0anlpNjE6nXSYBA_N7WDL4foN-PCmCF&pbid=5e83fc845d86487e88b6953600eaff54"></script>

Starting at the 6:12 mark:

Well it wasn't just Sam. I mean, we weren't in, uh, just a center controlled snap situation. It's cadence. You know, cadence has to be clear and communicated. Uh, we have a guard that is tapping the center, so you know; our snapping was bad, and it's not on the center. It's..... it has a number of people that have something to do with that.

But don't let the actual truth interfere with your continued attempts to cyber-lynch Kelly....

You just used a quote by BK made AFTER THE MEDIA SHITSTORM AND ORIGINAL COMMENTS in a show with Jack Nolan to try and tell me he didn't mean what I think he meant.

Are you trolling me right now? Please be honest. You have 100% succeeded in giving me a headache. I'm done....wow.

There's nothing that bad with Kelly's comments. I imagine the same people who are upset with them would be upset if he didn't say anything or didn't admit what the faults really were. (i.e. when he said something about "coaching not being the issue" and everyone was pissed because that clearly was not true.) So now he tells you the truth: the snapping was bad, the offense was bad, etc. and suddenly that's a problem.

What you would prefer to hear is for Kelly to blame everything on himself and then proceed to resign because in your mind, he is currently the living embodiment of trash.

Ummm... yeah... soooooo.... can anyone link me where Brian Kelly threw players under the bus? Because: Is not it.

Missed the part before. Called it atrocious

After Saturday's sloppy 10-3 loss to North Carolina State — in rain-soaked hurricane conditions — coach Brian Kelly called the Irish's inability to snap the football "atrocious" in a postgame news

The example we have been using....Mustipher.

Mustipher has done a good/great job all year and it's his fault it's impossible to snap the ball properly in that weather?? There was literally zero reason for BK to mention that in the presser. Everyone could see that the snaps were bad and everyone knows why. It had nothing to do with the player failing. Yet BK calls him out.

Disagree. The NC State center had maybe one bad snap. The bobbles on the snap were all in the QB.

Dude you are just looking for things to fault Kelly for now.

You need to chill out. Everyone is pointing out that you are wrong here.

Can I ask you something...are you married? Have any kids?

There are more important things in life than looking for a million reasons to criticize Kelly.

Well, he did have a penalty on him that stalled the only decent drive Malik had going against Texas. I want to say there was also a bad snap in that game or against Duke that hurt a drive too, don't remember which. That's not to say that Mustipher hasn't done a great job, it's tough being Center. It's hard to be perfect for 60 snaps in a game, and it's especially impossible in terrible weather conditions.

David Pollack went up in points for me yesterday when he defended Kelly on their college football show-Kelly was honest and to the point about the criticism of his players. Better re-evaluate this coach boys because he's about the best coach this program can get these days. I still think this is a good coach who has done a B+/ A- job with his time a Notre Dame. No coach is coming here who wont get exactly want he wants in player enrollment so sit back and relax cause this guy is about the best that can be expected. These other guys who know how to build a program by todays standard wouldn't touch Notre Dame with a ten foot poll, nor would Notre dame want them. In many ways I'm on board I guess with the status quo. What Lou did cannot be repeated at the present Notre Dame. I suppose I have to agree with the administration-what else is there is you are a fan of the 'Irish'. Like I said as it was told to me they are on the 10 year plan.

Sorry but no it was on college football live yesterday where Finebaum gets off on being critical of Notre Dame -same ole %$#@. Even the guy from Mich said he didn't want to be in the criticism of Kelly. Even those fools know Notre Dame is doing about the best the can with what they got.

Seems like a pretty good assessment. Many will disagree, but it is kinda where I'm at. Pissed at some of his play calling...pissed he hired BVG. But still my guy.

What I would prefer to hear is nothing. There's plenty of middle ground in this. You can easily not publicly blame the coaches and yourself as well as not publicly blame a position/position group/players. For me, I don't need to hear him blame himself or the coaches. But I don't need to hear him blame someone else either. You can respond to this equestrians without specifically blaming anyone. He didn't, and often doesn't.

Even those fools know Notre Dame is doing about the best the can with what they got.

That's not a good thing.

The thing is, we're 2-4 so no matter what Kelly does people will be pissed (understandably so). When you're winning you can do whatever you want, just look at Saban. Let's face it, if we were 6-0 and beat NC State 10-3 and he said the same things about our snapping the ball, nobody would blink an eye. In fact many would applaud him for keeping guys accountable. But we're losing so he's an asshole. That's how it works, he knows it.

Nope, nothing better to do than further my agenda against Kelly, of which I have nothing whatsoever to gain personally.
