Depending on the bowel, I doubt he would. He isn't viewed yet as top 2 day pick yet. He is going to need as much exposure as possible. I also dont see him as the type that would sit.
Agree. Hopefully it’s not a shitty one

FWIW Hartman played in his bowl last year and he has stated that he didnt anticipate coming back to college at that time.

We are now halfway through the season, which is both sad and exciting as bowl season rapidly approaches. The updates are all in the same range so if you like our chances to only lose one more game, start looking at Dallas' hotels, if you think we drop a couple might I suggest spending Christmas with Mickey?

Cotton Bowl kinda sucks as a venue but at least it’s NY6 and we’d get a brand name opponent. Another fucking Camping World Bowl would be stupid.

It’s at Jerry World, not the actual Cotton Bowl…

Yeah I know. I went to the CFP game against Clemson in 2018. The stadium itself was fine and they do put on a show but end of the day you're in a parking lot in Arlington, Texas in January. It's got to be the crappiest environment of the NY6/CFP venues.

Hard to get excited about non playoff bowl games these days.
Anybody on either team projected to be drafted will be “training “ rather than playing football.

Hey at the Peach Bowl you would wish they have a parking lot

Alrighty, now that we are post by week and 2/3rds through the season some bowl clarity is starting to emerge. New Years Six looks difficult but still tantalizingly possible with a win out but also a couple other fun matchups are starting to possibly take shape.

The ESPN.com has their duo continue to prognosticate in an Insider article.

Bowling Each Other Over

Schlabach: LSU coach Brian Kelly probably wouldn't enjoy it much, but a contest against his former team, Notre Dame, in the ReliaQuest Bowl would be uncomfortably fun for everyone else. Kelly guided the Irish to a pair of victories over LSU: a 31-28 win in the 2014 Music City Bowl and a 21-17 victory in the 2018 Citrus Bowl. The Tigers have won three straight games to stay in the SEC West race. They'll get a week off before playing at No. 11 Alabama on Nov. 4.

if we win out we'll probably finish around 10th and so no way we don't make a new years six bowl game

I was there and wasn't impressed with the stadium TBH.

i wouldnt like it. PSU is a tough opponent and you'd get more kudos for beating a SEC school
Did you watch that game against OSU? Their offense is worse than ours. They might not score on us.

Tie-ins create a serious roadblock.

I think we would need a complete and utter conference cannibal holocaust to occur, which usually happens by now, but hasn’t.

Notre Dame vs LSU would bring so much salt they wouldn't be able to grow crops near Tampa for a generation.

They will make it happen if it is possible. Would easily be the most watched bowl outside of the CFP, with the exception of maybe one NY6 game depending on matchup.

Athletic talked about this last week, BEFORE ND was screwed by the past weekend’s results, & ND had less than a 50% chance then of making a NY6 game.

They went through all the at-large and tie-in scenarios that involve ND, & ND needs 2 if 4 teams to lose another regular season game, then lose CCG or not make the CCG.

If a team goes to the CCG and loses, finishing 11-2, they will get the bid over a 10-2 ND who didn’t go to the CCG.

ND needs them to lose 2 regular season games, and not make the CCG, finishing 10-2, thus the Bowl Selection Committee could choose ND over them. (Not guaranteed).
Or for them to go 10-3 & same scenario.

If a team finished 11-1, then loses the CCG, finishing 11-2, they get a bid over ND.

ND needs two of Texas, Bama, PSU or one of the PAC teams to lose another regular season game. (Maybe UNC, they were undefeated at the time).

And no team has ever made a NY6 game with 0 ranked wins.
If USC continues, which I think they will, they won’t be ranked.
Duke, without Leonard, could finish unranked.
And Louisville, who beat ND, after losing to Pitt, with more losses will finish unranked.
Clemson obviously will finish unranked with loss to ND.

ND could finish the season with 0 ranked wins, & only 1 ranked opponent, being a loss.

The 2019 ND team went 10-2, beat a top 20 team by 4 scores, only 2 losses were against top 20 teams, (so 3 ranked opponents), & didn’t get a NY6.

Even if ND wins out, it’s less than a 50% chance they get a NY6 game without help.

Another reason to join a conference

Penn State probably loses to Michigan. One of Oregon/Oregon State is guaranteed another loss before the PAC-12 title game and Utah plays both Oregon and Washington. We will get help.

But yeah, it’s wild to think that we started the season with three top 10 opponents, (hopefully) beat two of them and should’ve the third, and could finish with zero ranked wins.
