My dad still tells me that Bo Jackson is the greatest athlete he's ever seen.

If you watch that clip when he beats that infield bloop to first base, by a mile, you'll understand why.

I went an Angels game back in the 80's and they were playing the KC Royals. 2 events in the game are still very vivid to me:

1. Bo Jackson hit a line drive homerun to right field and it hit off the facade of the seats in right field (this was before the stadium renovation). It almost looked like the ball was never more than about 8ft off the ground from the time it went off his bat till it cleared the wall. The sound from the ball hitting the facade seemed to echo the entire stadium.

2. Same game, Bo Jackson struck out and broke the bat over his helmet as he was walking back to the bench.

I saw an O's Angels game back when Bo ended his career with the Angels... Cal hit a HR in the top of the 8th to take the lead, then Bo hit a BOMB to right field in the bottom of the 8th to win the game... I'll never forget that one as it just felt like two greats going at each other.

Bo and I share a birthday (although he is significantly older than me). Always loved Bo as a kid.

My dad loved Bo.

Almost everyday in elementary school I'd get "Bo knows" jokes from the principal.

He's probably my favorite athlete (and the best all around) of all time.

Bo knows "great". He didn't just play 2 sports, he excelled. The "Bo Knows" commercial were great and did a lot to put Nike on the map.

I'm 26.

Just never really understood, (at the time) or rather, grasped how incredible of an athlete Bo was....

One of a kind
