We've gotten plenty of information, you just have to read between the lines a little bit.
At this point, it's crystal clear that Kelly is prepared to accept an offer to be a head coach with an NFL team. This is way beyond aggressive negotiation tactics. Who knows whether he gets that offer or not, but as time goes on, I think there's a point/line of no return and that line is getting close.
The only source we have saying anything to the contrary are biased sources (ex players, current players, fans, etc.) close to the team.

What I want to know is why ND is allowing this to happen. At least BC stood their ground a few years ago and fired their coach when he talked to the NFL. As an alum I wish that ND had the intestinal fortitude to do the same thing.
I am tired of this situation, and as an alum I find it embarrassing to the University. If was were JS, I would fire him today and move on.
Wrong. Chance he ends up in Philly < 1%. It's not a real option. It's a prop in a negotiation.

Here's the thing to me: If he's not taking the job, or at the very least strongly considering staying, why wouldn't he make a statement immediately saying so? He KNOWS this puts his recruiting class in jeopardy...he's dropped from #1 to #2 in classes with the linebacker Anzalone swapping to Florida. That's a BIG deal with how important recruiting is in CFB. If he wasn't working hard at leaving he wouldn't risk screwing his class up. Kelly has always been a climber, on to bigger and better, each sto he's been at. They have to be hammering out details right now. Out of the country? No contact? He's gone.
Seriously I'm getting frustrated by the simple mindedness here. He isn't going to Philly. They would never offer him the job because he's not qualified, and he'd never take it because its not as good as the job he has.
He CAN'T say he wouldn't take it, though, because that would defeat the whole point pretending he was interested in the first place. Nothing has happened thAr would demand a statement, either. The only place in the world where this is a crisis is in the minds of ND message board posters.
I could never be an athletic director. No matter who the coach was, if they tried pulling this sh!t with me I would have already hired a new coach and sent him to fire the existing one.
This whole situation is BS. I will never respect Kelly again after this. The fact that he is being quiet is BS. If he leaves this is BS and if this is for a money grab it's BS. I lost all respect for him. Period!

So fire the best coach ND has had in what 2 decades because of this? Also look where that got BC. Good thing you aren't the AD.
Yeah, I will take my chance in the free market and find a man who looks at Notre Dame as the best job in the world and is 100% committed to it 100% of the time.
