I think its generally all on the head coach to pick his staff. He is then ultimately responsible for the staff he puts together.
There has to be a "black-balled" list to some extent.
AKA CW as OC.
I would think.

Not concerned BK is ND
How does this stuff work? When a coach goes to a new school does he bring his staff with him? The staff he has now, were they with him at cincy?
i know for sure diaco was with him. that may be it.
Hired by him paid by school?
I talked to an alum who knows people who have great knowledge of the situation and this alum said he is not worried at all. The person also said they are confident Kelly will be Irish for some time.
Doing my best Nate Silver impression and aggregating all of the info out there it sounds like ND is not giving him everything he is looking for or a deal would already be done. It could be that they never intend to either. It's also important to remember that th Eagles who have interviews scheduled into next week seem to have clearly not offered him the job yet so currently it doesn't seem like he even has the option to leave.
The most troublesome thought is ND playing hardball and being willing to let Kelly walk away to simply go with Martin at a discounted price. IMO this would be a horrendously poor decision.
Chip or Brian?
Cuz supposedly there's a Sociology teacher at ND who says Chip will be ND's coach next year. I mean that's practically from the horse's mouth.
yeah pretty much. I would assume there is a final background check done by the school before actually signing them to a contract, but the head coach is responsible for selecting assistants to fit in to his coaching philosophy.

Something needs to get done and soon.
If BK does come back, I believe Diaco owes him a ball tag.

If he reads some of the posts on here he will be telling all of us to pack sand.

Thx Lax. I've seen many references about the money (for BK and staff). Is just me or is ND cheap? We hear soooo much about the endowment, TV Contract, and the new ND hats we all bought this year. Can it possibly be about money? ND picking a coach at a discounted price? It's gotta be the other items discussed on this tread...not money.
Truth be told I was thing of you.
Let him walk... Big boy games being played up in this hizzy. If he's got the apples to play hardball against the University of Notre Dame, let him feel the heat back. Put the pressure on. He's no freaking guarantee to land the Philly job.
This has nothing to do with more money for his boys...it has to do with his ego getting stroked. It's becoming very obvious. My opinion, of course.
