I don't blame him for being interested, but mother****er.

I'm hoping it's for an extension, some money, and maybe more influence. We do not need to lose him right now. Who the **** would we get?

Charlie Strong is the name that comes off the top of my head, if he would even come.

SEC ties is the only good thing.

I don't understand. He is going to get paid at ND. He may only last 2 years in the NFL. Especially in Philly.

Again, as someone said like 2 minutes ago - "Leaving Notre Dame is not an option."

I do, then, blame him for being interested.

This. Hopefully just for leverage. For everyone who criticized the big deal Charlie Weiss this is why you do it. Big extension with a huge poison pill buyout.

Also, remember Les Miles interviewed with Arkansas... this is a common ploy for leverage.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. First Diaco now this..leave our coaches alone ! Really though...BK is on the verge of something special in South Bend. Golson..Daniels..the defense..stacked '13 recruiting class. I hope he doesn't leave.

If he does however...chance that ND talks to Urban Meyer maybe ?

What the **** is he supposed to say? Be realistic here. If he says he'll listen then people bitch that he's not committed. There's no nice way to go about anything and denying it publicly is generally your only option.

Why would he care if people thought he wasn't committed if he was just going to interview a couple days later?

****, the fact that he did not just flat out tell them NO, to me, means that he is likely gone. But then again, maybe he just meant that it was not an option...unless the Eagles came along.

Great point. Forgot about that.

Only good thing? You did just see the Louisville season and their demolition of Florida, right? I'm not saying he's the go to guy or even the best option, but he's a damn good coach thus far. That said, it doesn't mean he's ready for ND.

If Swarbrick hadn't already come out and basically said they're going to hook Kelly up, I'd fully believe it was for leverage.

In the event that he doesn't take the job then he can just deny that he was serious about leaving and only wanted to hear the offer and see what the options were, but his heart was always at ND. C'mon, this is PR 101 **** here.

I bet hes just trying to get more money out of ND just like a lot of coaches and agents try to do these days. He knows he can be a legend here in a few years.

He's after more $

I'm convinced, he just saw chip do it at Oregon. He just saw bill Obrien do it at penn state. There's no way he goes. There's no way.

But for the record I hate 100% as an Irish/eagles fan

LOL! Kelly would be a Goon to leave ND right now... He's got this team on the right track, and he's in the 2nd best scenario you can have as a head coach. That would be a disappointment. I'd take Bob Diaco as the Head Coach any day though..

Um, Diaco cannot make in game adjustments, we just saw that against AL. Diaco is a good DC but would be TERRIBLE as a first year HC at ND.

Jack needs to keep on BK's A S S and let him know how good he has it at ND.

This is just crap.

And of course BK would take Diaco with him, anyway. The staff, the team, everything will be dismantled in a matter of weeks.

In addition to the Eagles, league sources say the Bears also have interest in Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly ...

Old news but still...

I would expect this reaction if he took the job. As someone who abides by the philosophy of "you always listen," I'm no ready to flip out unless and until he is announced as the coach for another team.
