Where there's smoke there's Keith Marshal and Andrus Peat? Oh, this one has the making of something special. #Battlestations

Wouldn't blame him. Its a pretty lateral move, and a fan base will appreciate him for once.

Predictions are not factual. Even if they eventually come to fruition. But by the caliber of your posts you certainly knew that.

To the topic at hand, other than the link provided is this popping up on any other sources? I know some of us are social media / twitter all-stars...

If I were Richt, I'd take the A&M job. He now reminds me of Tubs at Auburn-- yes, there's been some fond and great times had together...but it's probably just best for both parties to go their separate ways.

This is not happening. He would be an idiot to leave UGA.

Why not?

The state of Texas is way talented! Now that a&m joined the sec you don't think the top players in Texas wouldn't love to play in the sec and stay close to home? He would be smart to take the a$m job, he would be loved there.

Is it better to burn out or fade away?

The only way I could see this being a smart move for Richt is that he probably wouldn't be on the "hot seat" so much (even though he made UGA what it is today).

If he was able to continue recruit Georgia kids and Texas kids at A&M, that'd be ridiculous. Chances are that his Georgia connections would be all but shattered though.

I can't see him doing this though considering the class he has signed up currently and the team he should have next year.

Hats off to A&M if they can make it happen though.

I thought I read that Marshall picked between UGA and Clemson? I could see us getting Theus but not sur about Marshall. I am like most and cant see Richt leaving UGA for A&M at this point.

I don't see how A&M would be any better for him, they expect to win the MNC every year. It is probably worse then UGA in that respect.

+1

UGA has 2 BCS wins in the last 10 years, A&M has 0 appearances in that time frame. UGA was ranked #1 in the nation, A&M hasn't sniffed the top spot. This is far from a lateral move IMO.

I don't think this is a good move on either side. You're taking a coach who did well but couldn't dominate the SEC East and you're putting him in the SEC west with less talent..

Richt, UGA hold extension talks

Those conversations came amid a backdrop of rumors and unsourced reports that have linked Richt to current openings at Texas A&M and -- to a lesser extent -- Penn State.

McGarity gave no credence to those reports Friday.

Asked if there was anything to worry about regarding Richt's future at UGA, McGarity replied, "No."

I suspect Richt is just using it as leverage against UGA for a better deal.

Charlie to KU was clearly a step up, going from OC to HC. HC of UGA to HC of aTm is, at best, a horizontal move.

Unless there hard feelings involved between Richt and the UGA brass, I don't see it happening.

Richt was bashed by the Georgia faithful when he started 0-2, bet you that left a bad taste in his mouth. IMO he takes the $ and is the Aggie coach.
