The ads would be lit against Newsome. That would actually be a fun campaign. I think they want Pete.
Wouldn't surprise me. First black lady VP (checks two boxes). Now play the gay card to show how progressive the Dem party really is.

FAT PEOPLE AGAINST BIDEN!

He's thin! He exercises. He has a Peloton.!!

We lardasses, drinking cheap beer, eating friend chicken and working on our lardasses by sitting on cheap furniture
watching reality TV vote against Biden everytime we can!

Electoral map or fat ass map? We report, you decide.
I've been on this board since 2007. No one has dedicated so much time and so many characters to irrelevant, rambling posts as you do.

The United States economy added 431,000 new jobs in the month of March.

63% of those jobs went to women.

The unemployment rate is 3.6%

Rumors of the demise of the United States economy are greatly exaggeratied.

This is indeed positive information but there still seems to be something awry. Here in my state, the unemployment rate is under 3%, which is pretty comparable to the pre-pandemic level. The majority of businesses that I have frequented still have an often dire need for employees as most businesses are still understaffed (including the ones I am involved in). Other places I have visited over the past year are seeing the same issues. As we know, quite a number of businesses closed during the pandemic which would have freed up folks for new employment. However, the “understaffed” problem is much more apparent now than prior to when the pandemic began. Have all of these businesses experienced substantial growth as compared to before the pandemic began? I think not and at least not enough to cause significant staff shortages. Many of the restaurants here can only partially fill their tables because there are simply not enough employees to service them. Restaurants here are giving signing bonuses and competitive pay ($14 to $16 per hour even for part time). It’s not just the restaurants either……office, retail, trades, etc. Where are all the workers? Plenty of folks still file for unemployment……..and I’m quite sure our population is not decreasing. I don’t claim to be an economist but I have started and run several businesses and something is not adding up with the statistics.

Wait, were they trans women or women by birth? If it was a man who transitioned to a woman, does it count as a man getting the job or a woman getting the job? Gotta make sure we align hiring practices with proper gender pronouns.

Items not listed above:

1. Labor participation rate
2. Gas prices
3. Inflation rate
4. Most recent NBC news poll shows 67% of Americans think the country is headed in the wrong direction.
5. Hunter Biden's laptop is a real thing, not a right wing conspiracy
6. A president who is in mental decline and cannot recall things he said, coupled with a vice president who is as likable as a root canal, and a senile 80 year old speaker of the house who just purchased a beachfront home in Florida while warning people about climate change.
7. The top 5 states Americans left in 2021 are Dem strongholds: NJ, NY, IL, CT, and CA.
8. There's a red wave coming in November.

The way we calculate unemployment is just dumb

Absolutely. What the government projects as unemployment vs. the percentage of working adults that aren't gainfully employed and have quit looking for work are not the same. We are no where near back to fully staffed in stores and businesses following the pandemic. There are labor shortages everywhere because people don't want to work. That's not the sign of a flourishing economy.

He does none of those things. He's in memory care.

If only we all drank IPA's, ate skinless chicken, and also had nice couches.... Browner might like normal people.

Whomever was in Biden's ear (the intelligence community) telling him his son's laptop was fake... continue to undermine their value to the United States.

People bitch about Clinton and Trump embarrassing the Presidency. And that's valid. But nobody in the last two decades has hurt themselves more than the intelligence community.

If you take away the pandemic (2020 to current) Labor Participation is the lowest since Sept 1977.

Amazing to really look at labor participation. Started to tumble in 2009 and continued to fall but sort of plateaued in 2016/2017 but began to rise in in 2020 before the pandemic. Those numbers and years probably don't mean anything though.

The good news for him is that he probably didn't realize what was happening and won't remember any of it today.

Joe printed all of that free COVID money which will come back to bite us. Suspending the gas tax would just make matters worse.
The Fed has been printing Covid money since Covid started.

Just seems like another "no".

Doesn't the gas tax money go to infrastructure for the most part?

You've got to make it up somewhere.
