Yes, it can be difficult to witness at times, especially if you’ve had someone close suffer from similar cognitive issues.

My FiL suffered from dementia. It took him all over the place from amusing to terrifying incidents. He showed mild signs, then all of a sudden took a big nose dive where it killed him.

When he first showed signs of a fast decline, we took him to the hospital for evaluation. We're with him in the psychiatric ward when he asks a security guard if he could have his gun. When the guard asks him why he wanted the gun, he looked at my MiL and said he wanted to shoot her. I'm positive if the guard had handed him his gun, he wouldn't have hesitated to pull the trigger. His eyes had no soul. This was not the man I've known for 50 years.

On a funnier note, this incident was before he started his rapid decline, but he had been diagnosed with dementia. The wife and I are visiting him at the nursing home. I leave the room to go use the restroom. Made the wrong turn and had to turn around and walk past his room. He saw me walk by, looked at my wife and said, "Did you see Jim "lastname" walk by? He's a spy. He spies here all the time."

NATO is trying to walk back Biden's comment. I suspect NATO leaders have discussed a way to get Putin out of office and Joe slipped up.

Intelligence is now reporting that Putin is wanting to split Ukraine into two countries like N & S Korea. Is this a way to save face in light of their lack of success to date?

Hell no. It's not that they didn't care. They cared too much. They made a choice to bury a story because it would hurt the chances of their party of preference. There was literally nothing from most media companies on this story.

People claimed they feared a tyrannical President Trump. I guess I get that. At least we had press that would hold him accountable if he really did anything tyrannical.

What I fear is that a huge majority a press that does the bidding of a certain party. You want to talk about tyranny? There is a substantially larger chance of that happening from a Democratic President. Not because a Democrat is any more tyrannical than a Republican, but because you have a large swath of media that will do whatever it takes to make sure that the person they side with doesn't look bad. You control the press, you control the message, you control the minds.

Thank God we have unbiased "fact checkers" that we can rely on.

Where was he wrong? When the laptop story came out the news media downplayed it completely. They claimed intel said it was bogus, none of them followed up on it at the time because they knew it would hurt their side. It's just like the bogus rumors they started about the Russian bounty gate, the park being cleared for the photo op, and a number of other hoaxes they admitted to after the election. Now that Biden is firmly in office they've admitted the laptop was real. It's disingenuous and false, and it sadly proves everything Trump said about the media. You chose to deflect rather than address what @ab2cmiller said.

Do you really want Vice President Kamala Harris in the Oval Office? She was chosen as a bow to identity politics to unite the Democratic Party in the election campaign, not for her ability to fill the President’s shoes. In the last 14 months she has failed to demonstrate even the minimum knowledge or capacity for the job. We are fated to make the best of the President we have.

There was also the never ending need for the media to come up with a daily Trump outrage to fuel the machine. They were nitpicking the silliest things just so they had something new to discuss. This was prior to the pandemic too, when unemployment was down, businesses were staffed, no supply chain issues, gas was cheap, no real inflation to speak of, the border was more secure, etc.

They were so worked up over fair elections, honesty, integrity in government and so on THEN when it was an obviously fake story, but now that they have a REAL example, in the case of Hunter's laptop, of buying access to the White House and the media suppressing facts in order to sway an election, their character and concern seem to have gone on vacation and they have nothing to say. They've gone from all day, every day, "The walls are closing in! This is it! The smoking gun! He's going down! Russian collusion!" to "What? Huh? Hunter who? A laptop? Huh? Never heard of it. I doubt anything comes of the Hunter laptop. We kept hearing that they were coming for Trump and his family once they were out of office. Last I checked the latest lawsuit didn't go anywhere again, more nothing-burgers as usual. Guilty or innocent nobody at the top (or related to anyone at the top) does jail time or hard penalties...if it does happen it's pretty rare at best. Maybe some underlings take the fall for something petty, but this is the way it works when you have money. It's the same class privilege that lets you slap another man at the Oscars and not get hauled away. If it was Joe Shmoe doing the slapping, he's out of there.
