Saw this on another Irish site, so I thought it would be great to see what everyone got for Christmas, Irish-related or not. Here's my corny-ass answer:

This was my daughter's first Christmas where she could actually understand somewhat what was happening. Like an idiot I got her something she already had, so last minute I returned it and found a huge Dora doll. Score...she absolutely loved it and has taken it with her everywhere today. Her look when she opened it was my favorite gift. You can see Dora on the right hand side of this picture...Alyssa just couldn't eat unless Dora was also in a high chair, 'eating':

Irish gift: My wife got me two Duke/ND tickets and 2 North Carolina tix, which is pretty dang awesome. Would've loved to have seen them with Grant, but oh well. Merry Christmas to all...

Good to see you had a good day.

I would have to say not having to work and spending all day with my wife and daughter was the best.

Got a nice watch and some bow ties/ties. Also bought my dad Pinstripe Bowl tickets so that's basically a gift to myself haha.

Received a kindle fire. Honestly, I was a little disappointed at first because I wanted one of the galaxy nexus tablets, but I love it now. I can barely tell the difference between it and an iPad.

Surprise gift was a Tokens and Icons bottle opener whose handle was made from the pre-97 seats at ND Stadium.
But tomorrow is when I get my best gift.

My man, NDinLA... same here with my daughter, first one where she even knew wtf... great stuff.

My family goes overboard on X Mas gift... always has... among the best stuff I made out with was...

--JJ Grey and Mofro 'Brighter Days' the live album CD/DVD combo (Big fan and I swear the live version of 'Lochlossa' on this thing is music on another level)

-- Books... Notre Dame and the Civil War/ Unbeatable: The Story of the 1988 Notre Dame Football Team

-- Band of Brothers and The Pacific on Blu Ray

-- New ND Blanket (The one with the helmet sitting in school of the school, fairly well known blanket)

--42 on Blu Ray

--Best One?? Seeing my girls get excited over their stuff (They were even more spoiled than I)

Merry Christmas y'all

-The Universe on blu ray
-some good beers
-New ND sweatshirt
-honestly the best gift is somehow managing to save a couple weeks of vacation until Christmas to spend with my wife and boys 4&2.

ND Stuff: Got a ticket from the rededication game and a TJ Jones signed mini helmet.

Overall: Seeing the pure bliss on my grandfathers face when I gave him a DVD of his speech at the Pep Rally and luncheon this year...oh and his Mike Ditka cigar.

I am moving from San Francisco to Chicago on Saturday. Driving both cars out with the wife. My parents decided a few weeks ago to skip their winter trip to come grab the daughter (15 months old) and fly her home with them. Saves the kid 25 hours in a car and allows the wife and I to stop off in Vegas on our road trip. Pretty damn good gift for everyone if you ask me!

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas y'all

My wife got me the same thing. Can't wait to read it.

The best part of my Christmas..... We're done eating, gifts have been opened and the grand-kids are running around the house having a great time. I have a box of pictures on my lap I looking through. From underneath, my 2 year grandson wedges his way between the box and me and climbs up on my lap just to sit. Love It.

For a guy that got used bicycles for Christmas, my sons face was priceless when we gave him his 4wheeler. He went through a tank of gas yesterday. Happy camper

My wife and I usually get ourselves something after Christmas. The sales are a lot better and the stores aren't very crowded.

The absolute best thing that happened yesterday was when we gave the grandkids (5 of them) tablets. The joy and surprise on their faces was priceless. It made our Christmas.

Got my little man the Skylanders game for the Wii. He has never played any gaming system at all except for the games on our iPad.

The best thing for me was watching the discovery and joy of him figure it all out within 20 minutes (with me realizing that gaming might very well be hereditary, or even natural). So we played it all day and in battle mode, he ended up kicking my can quite regularly.

25 & just had my first xmas with my father

I remember what you had told me. So when you said that you were spending Christmas in SanD, I wondered. But I didn't want to pry. That is part of what I meant when I expressed my congrats to you guys.

WE GOTS US A WINNER!!!

DSHANS You are an expert at that, being one of the best most soulful guys I know. In fact, you guys are three of the biggest winners. Funny how it flows from father to son. Remember that FL, you will be "Grandpa with a smile, before you know it!"

My best gifts were :

4) Interaction with the best of you, also OMM, Me2, I mean Keith Arnold, the deer, Buster, Whiskey, Wooly, Beau and everyone;

3) Spending time on the phone with a friend who is going through the first Christmas without family, and having them thank me for the time I spent;

2) Having my kids come back from an afternoon celebration with their mom, and for the first time ever coming back from a visit relaxed and content have them tell me that their mom didn't have a story about how someone else aggravated her or hurt her in some way, that she had nothing bad to say about anyone, and how she said even though she didn't get any presents, it was her best Christmas ever;

1) "Thank you, mister! Me and Ember will love and take care of our sisters, forever!" From the homeless little girl that received one of the three presents that we bought with the money my kids had to spend as each one chose to give up one present. (I kid you not, I have never felt quite like this, maybe because it was so unexpected. Because it was about doing for others, and pride in my kids, kind of like with FLDomer!)

Spending a week and a half with my kids. I'll need it to replace the Playstation 4 that stopped working after ONE HOUR of gameplay. Piece of junk.

You too! You and I are a lot alike, I can tell. From the IT background to the kids! From one father of a year to another! The biggest two difference that I can tell are that I am slightly younger, and you of course, are much better looking!
